Spider-Man on the PS4 was a fun diversion. I spent some time knocking out some goons on a building site, as well as a few side-quests. Fighting and web-swinging are good, I just needed a little extra practise to make those flow better. :)

Right, since I didn't keep my promise to give my impressions of games I played at EGX, I'm deciding to do some now since I've got the time. Starting with Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise....

I hope you had a good Christmas everyone. To anyone who is unwell, physically or mentally, I pray, hope and wish for your recovery. And may your New Year be awesome. :)

So, I did say that I'd put down impressions of the games I played at EGX in Mid-September. I'll try and put the odd one in here a few times this coming week.

Heads up for all those in Europe. We seem to have another ill-advised effort to change law on internet activity. The EU wants to pass this on June 20th. http://hayleymulch-art.tumblr.com/post/174719239221/i-dont-usually-share-this-kind-of-thing-and-i

Wargroove is a title you've probably seen looking like an Advance Wars-style SRPG. It's characters are more cartoony-medieval, and the difficulty on a single-player game was quite tough. Not entirely sold on it yet.

Rezzed 2018 Impressions (again). Strange Brigade! I like the 1930's matinee aesthetic in this third-person shooter. I decided to choose the female engineer (each character has a special that activates when you chain your kill-rate long enough...)

No doubt some of you have played an early version of Nippon Marathon or something. At Rezzed, I really enjoyed it with three others playing. The obstacle course I was one played like the scoring system in Micro Machines, first to lose the others wins...

Rezzed impressions (part three). Moonlighter was good, loved the animations. Took a little time to get used to both shop menus and fighting in the dungeons. Realised I had to roll to get across to gapped platforms. I liked the...

PSA before I go to bed; the artist Milton Knight, responsible for a lot of stuff we watched in the 1990's, including designs for the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, needs some monetary help against an evicition notice. Links in comments.

Kingdom : Two Crowns is a 2D defence game. I don't know if it was anything other than two player split-screen co-op (playing by myself, the afk ruler got their crown stolen, leaving me to guide the monarch into the enclave I was setting up)...

Rezzed 2018 impressions continued. GRIP is practically Rollcage. A couple of times I became disorientated in a normal difficulty race because I flipped on scenery. However, after mastering the buttons that allowed the power-ups (involving...

Descenders has a really good feel for a mountain bike riding game. Has a good sense of speed and control, and I like the branching options on the map that present different challenges on each attempt to stay within your three attempts not to crash.

Curve Digital's Bomber Crew may have just been my favourite game at Rezzed. Managing a super-deformed British World War 2 bombing raid crew was quite fun (a little fiddly at first with the controls, I improved on my second run)...

Right, since I've mostly been in the comments section of articles and reviews lately, and I've been starting too many comments with 'I played this at EGX Rezzed' since I played a part of the game the article was about, I may as well put impressions here.

Happy Birthday, Occams! :D (Tommy the turdmobile via Shitty%20)

I'm heading to the indie games showcase called EGX Rezzed in London. Anybody else going this weekend?

I looked at an email on my phone yesterday regarding event tickets. Saw Rapture Gaming Festival in five different events across the UK. I want to attend the Colchester one.

What surprised me most about Brazil's Chapecoense football team (which was involved in the plane crash) was that I happened to watch parts of their last match against Palmeiras on my sport channel app. My thoughts are with the families and the injured.

Saddened that Vikki, Laura and Joe won't be on the Dtoid team anymore. Games journalism is a tough gig to get money for these days, and videogames are an expensive past-time. May your next gigs be full of fun. And butts. :)

So it's comictoid today? Allow me to point out my favourite series... https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51Nsx-P71bL.%20,204,203,200_.jpg

Playing Mechwarrior on the SNES, after beating Disgaea for the third time last week. I needed the best ending on Disgaea and that game, as well as the change to a mecha-shooter game is a pleasant feeling. :)

Got my copy of GamesTM in the post today. The back cover has an image of another videogames convention happening in London called GamerMania. Looks like I'll have to reschedule my holiday in July. :)

Regarding SMT favourites, mine is Succubus.

...then the slowly improving BBC3 has The Supergamers, following three British participants in e-Sports (this Tuesday, from 21:00 GMT)...
