Even the Ocean Review - Unbalanced Energies

I expected November to be a rather busy month for me new games-wise. Between Owlboy, the new Call of Duty, Dishonored 2 and Watch Dogs 2, it looked like I'd have my plate full for a while. But Owlboy bored me, Infinite Warfare looks u...

Robbing a bank, Adam Jensen-style

As we all know, banks are important, respectable institutions that perform an important function in our modern capitalist economy, and do not at all parasitically suck on the livelihoods of working people and the middle class alike. As...

About Alon Lesselone of us since 4:15 PM on 02.12.2016

I'm a musician, blogger and booze-hound from the exotic and ever-peaceful Middle East. I'm not financially successful or well-known in any of these endeavors (except for maybe the booze part), but when I'm not playing video games, they're the things that keep me sane, and I still believe they're the things I was born to do. Besides, you REALLY don't want to hear about my day job.

When I am playing video games, I usually play them on my PC, but I do own quite a few consoles due to some bad life decisions. My favorite games are, in no particular order, the first Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII, Super Mario 64, Arkham City, Mass Effect 3, Deus Ex, Doom, Silent Hill 2/3, Undertale, The Witcher series, Skyward Sword, and Star Fox 64. I spend most of my time on single-player, but I've been known to shoot people in the head (or, more honestly, get shot a lot in the head) on Killzone: Shadow Fall and Overwatch.

Other than that, I'm also a huge fan of 80s and 90s heavy metal, and it would take entirely too long to list all of my favorite bands and artists here. The very best are Pantera (rabid racism of vocalist notwithstanding), Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Guns N' Roses, Overkill, Forbidden, Accept, Kreator, Skid Row, Manowar, and Sepultura - although personally, I think they're all dwarfed by This Guy.

Of course, when you're struggling to get the world to recognize your brilliance, it's important to keep your spirits up. Get it? Because I'm talking about alcohol? My favorite, unoriginal as that may be, is good ol' No. 7 (also known as Jackey D), closely followed by Bowmore. If you're out of whiskey, I'll settle for some Vodka or Gin. Beer can work as a warm-up.
