Regardless of what system you’re playing it on, Fallout 3 is a great game, arguably one of the best this year. But if the Xbox 360 version of the title has any definitive “advantage,” it’s the inclusion of achievements; the PlayStation 3 didn’t ship with support for Sony’s version of achievements, trophies.

In a live interview at Eurogamer with Bethesda’s Pete Hines, it was revealed that may not be the case for long.

“It’s going to happen,” he says of the PS3 version receiving trophy support in the future, “[I’m] just not sure when. We’ll let folks know when we have something more definitive.”

And we, of course, will do the same as we hear more. It seems a lot of developers are shipping games without support for PS3 trophies and then shoe-horning them in later via a patch. In most cases, trophies aren’t retroactive, which means you’ll have to trek across the Capital Wasteland one more time to earn the virtual rewards.

We wouldn’t recommend waiting; Fallout 3‘s a great game, with or without ego-inflating icons and points. Don’t believe it? Check out our full review.
