Beatmania pwnage: YMO on GameBoy Color

0

Yellow Magic Orchestra is the birth canal through which video game music comes into existence. Listen to their self-titled album and Solid State Survivor, and you'll see what Japanese computer geeks (and everyone else, eventually) were listening to when the video game revolution started. Say thank you to Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono, and Yukihiro Takahashi. Without them, no Sonic the Hedgehog, Bomberman or electronic music, as we know it. Watch this person get a perfect score while playing Rydeen, a YMO classic, on the Gameboy Color version of Beatmania. Guitar Heroes, eat your hearts out! You can also get a taste of the original, trippy video for Rydeen after the jump, and other noodling with early video games. Rydeen
