Battle Worlds: Kronos meets goal on Kickstarter

Turn-based strategy game from King Art

The studio behind point-and-click adventure game The Book of Unwritten Tales has turned to Kickstarter to finish a game it’s been longing to flesh out for years now. One that’s much different in gameplay, but also happens to be a part of a genre that can be overlooked by major publishers. Battle World: Kronos is a turn-based strategy title for Windows, Linux, and Mac that will be funded later this month. There was mention of Advance Wars and Battle Isle, and my ears perked up.

The $120,000 goal has been met, which will join King Art Games’ own investment in the project to help finish development, as has the first stretch goal for more maps and support for two extra languages. Up next, it’s iPad/Android tablet versions and a free post-release add-on.

In addition to the main Kickstarter pitch itself, there are two separate gameplay videos which detail action points and movement plus combat. The fact that King Art has been sitting on a prototype for so long and will be using that as the foundation for this modern iteration of Kronos gives me a bit more confidence. Seems I’m not the only one who has taken notice.
