Avengers assemble in Fortnite's newest limited time mode

Hawkeye is there, for some reason

Epic Games is bringing back some Marvel magic to Fornite this year. Just in time for tomorrow's release of Avengers: Endgame, a new limited time mode will be playable in the popular battle royale title. While players won't be directly controlling Thanos, the mad titan is on the loose and it's up to everyone to collect various Avengers weapons and stop him.

From the sounds of it, this is more a co-op focused experience than a strictly battle royale one. I'm not sure if this is limited to four-man squads or not, but the main goal will be to thwart Thanos before he can collect all of the infinity stones and end the game with a "Snap Royale." That's certainly more interesting than becoming an overpowered god.

To help get you in the mood, a new Black Widow skin will be purchasable from the in-game store. Challenges specific to the Endgame event will also unlock sprays, banners, and an Avengers quinjet glider for you to rock. This sounds like a real treat for Marvel fans, which is basically everyone on the planet.

There is no time frame for how long this mode will run, but it begins today. It will be available on each platform, so you have no reason to miss out if you're interested.
