Assassin's Creed anime coming from Castlevania showrunner Adi Shankar

Producer's Facebook post teases series

Frenetic filmmaker Adi Shankar announced this morning that Ubisoft have asked him to produce an animated series based on the Assassin's Creed franchise. This comes hot on the heels of Shankar's gig as executive producer for the upcoming Castlevania TV series.

Shankar is renowned for working with established fictional franchises, often producing dark, violent shorts starring some of pop-culture's most beloved psychopaths, such as Venom, The Punisher, Judge Dredd and erm.. Power Rangers.

There is no further news regarding this particular Assassin's Creed venture, but there's no doubt the period settings, stark violence, huge cast of characters and time-hopping storyline would lend itself well to television. In the meantime, Shankar's Castlevania series hits Netflix July 7.
