Backflip Studios is currently working on an iPhone game based upon the 1992 epic, Army of Darkness. Cruelly overlooked by the Academy, this modern classic (and the trilogy it concludes) has been the subject of a number of videogame adaptations over the years with very mixed results.
The iPhone title, scheduled for release early in 2011, will have players controlling Ashley Williams as he defends the Necronomicon from Deadites. Word is, there will be some tower defense-inspired gameplay at work.
