Area man crochets for 800 hours, makes massive Mario blanket

Almost 7 years in the making

I'm not sure what's more impressive: the blanket, the fact that he put 800 hours of painstaking detail into it, or that this took six and a half years of on-and-off production before it was complete. It measures 2.2 x 1.8 funnymaths, and was created by Kjetil Nordin from Norway when he wasn't winning skydiving championships and working as a programmer. He said he sewed the water purple by accident and lost a week redoing it. I think I would have just left it and doused it with smallpox. Nordin's also done a ton of other crochet, including Totoro. Check out his full interview.

I find it comforting to read about such accomplished people. Blogging about them makes me feel better, as I've barely gotten out of bed and have been meaning to do something artsy in my spare time since the first Clinton was in office. Also, this post was written to teach Robo Panda Z how to use our editing tools, who will be joining our community team behind the scenes to help promote more people on the homepage. We are legion!
