Amazon opens its own Indie Games Store

Independent-specific storefront

Amazon has launched an Indie Games Store with the intent to “help indie game developers with promoting their PC, Mac, and browser-based games while helping gamers discover a large and growing selection of innovative indie games.”

Now through July 17, anyone who makes a purchase from this storefront will get codes good for three pre-selected games which will change on a daily basis. One thing I particularly dig about this setup is that there are bundles — like this six-title Double Fine one — being sold with 100 percent of sales going to the developers.

More outlets for independent developers to sell their games sounds like a good thing to me. Especially if there are deals to be had.
