Mighty Gunvolt Burst looks streets ahead of the original

When Azure Striker Gunvolt first hit the 3DS, I picked it up right away. Not because I was zealous to play it, but rather I wanted to get my hands on the included freebie Mighty Gunvolt right away. Looking like a side-project Inti Creates s...   read

Inti Creates and Sunsoft are working together on a new 8-bit Blaster Master game

Blaster Master is well known to a lot of people. It basically took me to the next level way back when, as it was notably difficult and contained a mixture of action platforming and Metroidvania exploration. I even explained how it was ...   read

Whoa, where did Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight come from?

It's not every day I come across a cool-looking new game that turns out to be a part of a long-running series, but Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight is precisely that. It's the fourth installment in Bombservice's line of 2D action-platf...   read

I thought I was tired of roguelike platformers, but GoNNER suggests otherwise

As much as I don't think I need another super-tough platformer with roguelike elements in my life, maybe I do! I dig the unusual art and clickety-clackety sound design of GoNNER. Screenshots don't do the aesthetic much justice. This trailer...   read
