Wrapping up July.. and August?

Good evening fellow D-Toid crew, a new week has begun. So how to wrap up July? Well for one, my 360 was sent in for repairs a few weeks back. With its return, I brought it back to life, and began playing some of my 360 gaming library once m...

Itagaki vs Tecmo - Final Round

Somewhat of a battle of the ages, Team Ninja's team captain Tomonobu Itagaki was given papers to address his situation with his team, and company. But as many readers know that such events occurring are few and rare. Recently Kotaku was giv...

Ninjas

After E3 week wrapped up, my 360 arrived back at my front doorstep. I took my system out of the box, and setup to get started playing again. Updated my system, etc.. plus it was my original system (with new parts). The first game I played (...

After the Rings

Since last week, I've been getting over my 360 going on the fritz (so to speak). Diving through my Gamecube & Xbox library, and rekindling with games I haven't played in awhile. Until I fire up my old Xbox, and check in Live, place in (ente...

The other affair - PN03

The year is 2002, within this network; Capcom creates Production Studio 5. Thus these titles would be released exclusively on the Nintendo GameCube platform. Sadly, not all of the said titles make the cut, and many are let go. While a few m...

The state of the affair: Metroid

An 8-bit sci-fi adventure that began on the NES, to an suspenseful mission to return to a place behind. Taking a few sidenotes from then cult films, to classic status, Metroid wasn't a household name back then. It was more of a starting poi...

Kick! Punch! Fireball!

Gametrailers is known for a few surprises, so what if today's a holiday. Recently they updated with a fun teaser for SFIV. Note: This is said to be connected to the home edition of the game, and co-relates from start to finish. Not to menti...

One step, two step

Yesterday afternoon, my "return to sender" box via Microsoft for "repairs" on my 360 arrived. At the time, I just came back home from grocery shopping. Something came over me, and I just didn't have any energy. After getting the system in t...

Gone too soon

In the late eighties, early nineties, comic books were starting to get back in gear. Most were about superheroes, and others ran independently. An unknown talent named Michael Turner, was one of those people. One of his major works, Witchbl...

And so it goes..

Late last night, during a run through Devil May Cry 4. My 360 just happens to obtain a ton of lines on the screen, including bits of snow. Tried to see if it was my settings, then played another game. Lines + snow came back, but now made an...

Motion Gaming System

MGS4 arrived in stores, and swiftly made gamers smile across the continents. (and some soon enough) Although I may not own a PS3, from the trailers, this game alone looks amazing. And it proves that other developers need to up their games m...

"Hey Cousin, lets go out"

GTA IV, what more to say; its an addiction. Something you start, and try to finish. Recently I found myself on the biggest island, dazed & a little confused. Taking jobs from Manny, to Elisabeta, each offer their own challenges (and tests o...

Hey Taxi! - a short review of GTA4

Liberty City, the place never sleeps. Anything, and everything is close, or far away. People ask you to take them places, run an errand. But hey its all in a day's work. Overall its been an interesting stay within this crazy place. I wonder...

Spotlight

Hey crew, hope everyone's week started out alright. Just received the new June issue of Game Informer, and I happened to spot the GISpy page (12). And D-toid's own Meagan, has a kodak moment with a fellow staff member. Hope its alright wi...

I'm making a note here

Just to say happy birthday Colette! =D *I'm going to be @ the Seattle Comic Con all weekend. Thought I'd make today more special, before I head out. ^_^

The Soul might be burning out?

Soul Calibur, a novel series fighter, with history & weapons of old days. Even though its roots branched out as Edge, it really hasn't changed too much (just cosmetically). But this nextgen craze of "in-game market" is honestly disabling "u...

Web of Shadows

Recently, I was browsing Newsarama; and something caught my attention. A new Spider-man game; although he's had a few bumps in the road, this one has a different design. For one, the team logo beneath a sign @ the official site reveals "Sha...

MGS4 - Sons of Gamestop

According to a recent article posted on Kotaku, there is confirmation that GS will be the only retailer that carries the LE version of the game. (*also included is a guide to what's included for each edition) **including the prices offered ...

A bit of gold

Yesterday, while listening to a new ep of AGI, I found myself wanting to try a new game. So I hopped on a bus, and headed for a somewhat local Blockbuster. (yes these still exist) I signed up for an account (I haven't been to one in a long ...

Running into a few bumps

When I look through my 360 library, and I notice a few thing's missing. 1) No new games, but a rental of DMC4, 2) Its been nearly a year since I've bought a new game *on a disc rather than xbla. 3) I'm not really interested in whats out the...

Rebirth or let it go?

Remember when originality mattered? Seriously, there are very few titles that do not have a 2 or 3 (and even a 4). No matter the subtitles. Are original entries beginning to disappear? Although the collected idea of "if it isn't broken, do...

Alliance

When I first picked up Marvel Ultimate Alliance, it felt like a dinner you had one night. There were no afterthoughts, but some of your friends made fun of you later on. I felt that after the first time I played it, but giving it another tr...

Trance Into REZ

Awhile back, a Dreamcast / PS2 title called "REZ", produced by Miz (Tetsuya Mizuguchi). *with a huge amount of past gaming credits, from Sega Rally - Space Channel 5. Even though we've moved past such consoles, and in our current gen; video...

Changing your mind

Say what you will, but screenshots do not do a game like SFIV justice. Lately I find myself teering over to the "hey you know what, this is pretty cool". Seeing the lead director for the dev team in this new entry may open even more minds. ...

Hunter

After a few days of just trekking the luscious landscapes within DMC4. I re-examined just how close it follows the past games. Honestly it feels more well rounded, although still attached to its old designs. Yet being able to take on open a...

About kadoshoone of us since 2:22 AM on 06.14.2007

Every story has a beginning.. and mine starts with the classic consoles. From Atari, NES, to Gen. Odd how things worked out, from blips to characters sprawling over an open world. Either by pipe or a loop-de-loop. Those times have passed, but still are a part of our gamer hearts.

Well my playlist thus far.. Pitfall, Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros 1-3, Castlevania, Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star, Final Fantasy, Metroid, Earthworm Jim, Mega Man, and many more.. this list could take awhile trust me.

Apart from the D-toid family, I'm also a part of the AllGames Community, and the fun show Distributed Failure https://www.distributedfailure.com/
