I watched The Mitchells vs. the Machines the other night. I found some of the internet-based humor "try-hard", but damn i love the way characters emoted, the staging of every shot, and the amazing action sequences. All of the characters were cute.

REVillage review is up before New Pokemon Snap? What is going on?

Ah, another dumb trademark fight between dumb corporations. This time it's fox and Blizzard over the Spanish word for devil. Gotta love those corporations, right?

Ok so Bloodstained is not as shitty looking as my first impressions made them out to be. The monster designs rock my sock, especially the giant demon house pets. And I finally unlocked the barber, allowing me to customize miriam further.

Bloodstained is fun. bought it on a whim on GOG. looks like shit, IMO, but it plays effin great. When im not playing it i think about it, and that's always the mark of a good game. But damn it looks janky as hell.

Welp. thats a dead phone. kind of. my phone fell. flat. on. its. screen. display is pitch black, there several cracks along one side of the screen. Bluetooth is still ok, i could listen to music driving home, strangely enough. repair or replace phone?

does anyone have any experience with a faulty pokemon y cart, or 3ds cart, in general? How reasonable is it to expect Nintendo to repair and keep all of my prized pokemon in it's innards? I've already googled, and cleaned both cart and 2ds.

#ArbitraryMetalTuesday demands my posting of one of my favorite tracks from Nuclear Rabbit, a band which itself is a bit of a deep cut, if that were a thing. Haven't sought them out recently, but this song paints vivid imagery, and remains a fave.

You know what game the Epic Games Store lacks? Jazz Jackrabbit. You'd think one of Epic's first games would be on there, back when they were known as Epic Mega Games, and they had that dople blue logo with clouds in the sky.

About cockaroachone of us since 5:06 PM on 10.15.2009

My favorite games meld music, art, and gameplay to enhance one another, elevating the product to something beyond mere "consumption"; it's an experience. Not everyone will like them, but they do gain a passionate following. Sorry if anything I said sounded pretentious, I am trying to be sincere. I love music and art, I've dabble in both for over 20 years now, so I appreciate games that put love into their art assets, animations, character design, level design, music, sound design, storytelling, and voice acting, even if the gameplay is simplistic (as long as it's fun!). These games also tend to feel nice- the control has a certain snap to it, enhanced by the visual and audio cues. This list may be biased towards my adolescence and childhood favorites from the SNES and N64/PSX days, so bare with me: you will see a lot of retro favorites. If your favorite is not on the list, it's probably because i didn't play it as a child/adolescent, or as an adult, for that matter.
