Guys I beat Summer Carnival '92: Recca. Ask me anything. This post brought to you buy Save States™. Save States™, you're in good hands.

Played the "Ray" series today. RayForce is one of my new all time favorites, RayStorm was also amazing, RayCrisis was... not great. Oh man RayForce though! The first two games were just plain cool. I don't know how else to describe them.

I don't know why I thought the Contra Collection was coming out much later... but here it is and now I own it. Of course I've played most of these, but not the arcade or JP version, and I never finished Hard Corps. I'm totally playing all of these again!

Finished up Raiden III and IV Overkill. On to V. But can I rap with you all for a sec: took a Streets of Rage detour. Holy shit yes that was awesome! Started up Streets of Rage 2: Even better?! I'm in love. Now I have to finish it and see how 3 fares.

Raiden II DONE! Madness. I just got Raiden III and put an hour into it and already got to level 5. I like this one way more - I don't care if it's because it's easier. Bought IV and V just now too because I think I'm gonna like these 3D ones.

I've cleared the Star Soldier series. Finished Star Soldier (PSP remake), Super Star Soldier (PSP), Final Soldier (PSP), Soldier Blade (PSP), and Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth (N64 Emulation). Great series! Fun weapon/hit system. The N64 had shmups?!

Raiden II is officially at the top of my shmup shit list. Fuck this game. Your ship is extremely slow. Bullets are extremely fast. You can barely see them. The power up system sucks. The levels are an endless onslaught. But hey, it's pretty? Not fun tho.

I bought a Vita to get PS1 and PSP remakes of PS1 RPGs off my backlog. Turns out I'd rather play a mountain of shmups on it. So now I'm obsessed with shmups. Whoopsie Goldberg.

This weekend (so far): Gato Roboto, Katana ZERO, and OVERWHELM. I love short games.

Busy day. Played R-Type III, R-Type Leo, Salamander, Salamander 2, Xexex, started R-Type Delta, and am almost finished with Ape Escape 1. Yesterday was Metal Slug Advance and Iridion II off the backlog. Lots of games, lots of Pew Pew Pew!

Gradius 1 - Tough but fair. Gradius II - Just plain tough. Gradius III - Tough and unfair. Gosh I hope IV and Gaiden aren't this hard. Gradius III is kicking my ass. There's a reason it's considered one of the hardest games ever made, huh? Halfway there.

This thing is cool. Now I have a Vita with real L2 and R2 buttons and it fits with the tempered glass I just put on. Too bad it's extremely ugly and kills the nice design of the Slim. Form v Function I guess.

I guess I'm doing a Klonoa series run now. Halfway through the WonderSwan game... my first, and likely last WonderSwan game (the only other title I could find that looked worth playing, Judgment Silversword, has a PC port). I loved the first one!

I've hacked my 3DS and now my Vita. I feel like I finally "own" these consoles, if that makes sense. Breath of Fire 1 is finished, and now it's on to BoFII on 3DS. On the Vita... it's oh god all these PS1 RPGs. I guess I'll start with Chrono Cross?

Spending money on an original GBA to mod and use with an Everdrive GBA: A Cautionary Tale... in the comments. TL:DR - Hack your N3DS, save yourself a headache.

I'm not sure what this thing is... but I have one coming in the mail tomorrow. I think they call it a Velveeta? I don't know. I hear it plays PS1 games.

I really like Dragon Quest... so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I'm totally enjoying Breath of Fire on my GBA. It's basically a poor man's DQ.

Just finished Splinter Cell: Conviction. I'm pretty sure my ranking of the series will ascend with release order. Conviction ran like shit on my PC, but it was the most fun I've had with the series yet. On to Blacklist sans Ironside. MGSV all over again..

For some reason I'm enjoying the "bad" version of Splinter Cell Double Agent more than any of the games that have come before it. Do I... do I have bad taste in games? Or is everyone else out of touch?

Splinter Cell has been less than stellar so far and I apparently just finished the best one. If it's all downhill from Chaos Theory then I'm worried. I like these games on paper, but so far they've been nothing but frustrating, and glitchy as hell.

Ok I'm at Splinter Cell Chaos Theory now... apparently the good one! And yes, it's already the best one just because it actually works with a controller so no more mouse wheel to adjust walking speed. Keyboard and mouse IS NOT always better, KB/M nerd.

I'm gonna do an April Fools goof and announce that a Steam in-home streaming app is coming to the Switch because I think it's a great idea and wish it was real. You've been goof'd suckers.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Quick Load: The Game.

Yoshi's Crafted World fixes a handful of my biggest issues with the series: no waste of time mini games at the end of levels, bosses are their own stages on the map, you don't have to press down to turn enemies to eggs, and aiming no longer auto moves.
