10 Things You Didn't Know About SteezyXL!

10. I Like Men Like for realsies. This was something I struggled with accepting over the years, but Ive recently figured things out and I honestly couldnt be happier with myself. Ive already told a few of you this, and Ive debated wh...

Steezy and Smurfee's PAX Adventure (Pictures!)

August 25th, 2011 was the start of something amazing. I had a flight to Seattle, Washington at 1:00pm and when I woke up that morning I had no idea what the next four days would entail. I didn't know if the people I would be staying with wo...

We Are Destructoid: You Are My Family

[Hey gang! Last week, I challenged some community members to tell us why Destructoid's community is so important to them. Don't let them be the only ones! Tell us how you feel in your own blog. -- Kauza] When I think of the word community...

Groundhog Day: Seven Legendary Stars

There is only one game that comes to mind when I think of that one game that I absolutely have to play again and again, more so than many others. Super Smash Bros. is a game I love to play with my cousins all the time, but surprisingly, t...

Unwinding the Mind: Happy New Year!

Jeez. How long has it been since I last wrote a blog? Its been too long. I guess you can say Ive been busy. Busy playing games that is. I just havent had the motivation for writing blogs, especially after with everything going on with N...

Adopt A Black Child for PAX

Ok, ok. I'm only half black and I'm technically an adult now, but still, how could you deny the cuteness of little leprechaun-looking me! WARNING!: The last picture at the bottom of this blog is a little NSFW. Just a little heads-up. So...

Alternate Reality: Making the Right Decisions

[For my monthly musing, I decided to write a little story based on the Mass Effect franchise. It's something I cooked up over the past couple of days. In my alternate reality, I see myself as a Commander Shepard fighting to make the right...

Adventures in the Amazon (& GameStop) Part Thrice

Theres a reason why its always good to come out to your family and tell them that youre a gamer. That reason usually comes in the form of GameStop gift cards. Generally for my birthday and Christmas, my non-immediate family knows that G...

Adventures in the Amazon Part Deux

I apologize for scaring you with my big ugly mug. You guys see this face? This is the face of a young black man being woken up by loud bangs to my front door at 9 in the morning. I WAS NOT HAPPY. However, my mood quickly changed after ...

Adventures in the Amazon

Ive decided that I want to start building my video game collection. The most games Ive ever owned at one time is somewhere around 10-15 games. Having been younger, I was hardly able to save any money to buy a new game. I either had to w...

Something About E3: Nintendo Fans Rejoice!

So we all know that at this years press conference, Nintendo had a very strong showing, whether youre a fan of Nintendo or not, you can't say that this is not true. Two years ago, however, was a different story. If you for some reason m...

It Runs In The Family: Memories That Last Forever Pt.2

This is part 2 of my Monthly Musing. Youre not required to read part 1 to understand anything youre about to read, but if you would like to read Pt.1 because you like doing things in sequential order (Im guilty!) then here it is! In thi...

It Runs In The Family: Memories That Last Forever Pt.1

Everyone on Destructoid has a reason for how they became gamers, and for a few of us, our siblings were a big part of that reason. My brothers are the reason Im such an avid gamer today. I would like to share my story with you all. [Siden...

WTF Happened To My Game!?

Now look at that. I bet nostalgia just kicks in just looking at that picture. I know it did for me. I think Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is the first game Ive ever played and beat. I just have so many memories with this game. The well-crafted st...

Let Me Into Your Club!! (Introduction)

I'm under the impression that this is a Super Secret Club created by the almighty DESTRUCTOID himself to rid the world of Evil doers and bring justice to all things video games. I was told that if I was ready for the awesomeness that ensues...

About SteezyXLone of us since 12:03 PM on 03.26.2008

HELLO there!

The name's James and I'm 24. I reside in the beautiful Bay Area in California. I've been gaming for as long as I can remember. Being a 90's kid, I of course grew up playing the Sega Genesis and NES being accompanied by Sonic The Hedgehog and the old school Mario Bros. I had so many games for my NES up until my NES broke and my dad decided to give the games away since I was busy occupying my new SNES. From there I pretty much owned any system that Nintendo made and enjoyed my childhood as a natural born gamer.

I now own all three consoles and try to be open-minded when playing various video games. Expect to see me write about my experiences with video games on this here blog!
