Review: Slender Man

Slender Man hasn't been relevant in internet culture for years. Remember how back in 2012 Slender Man was all of the rage? Youtubers were going nuts over Slender: The Eight Pages, there were a bunch of fan games, and then the whole thi...

Review: Christopher Robin

Winnie-the-Pooh is a character that I was afraid to admit I liked. I'm not ashamed to say that I love to watch Disney movies, but Winnie-the-Pooh always had an air with it that it was for babies. It seemed too childish for me for a long tim...

The gang's all here for Castlevania Season 2's first trailer

When it was announced that Netflix was producing a Castlevania series, I was cautiously optimistic about it. I love the series to the bottom of my heart, my personal favorite entries are Symphony of the Night, Harmony of Dissonance, and Ro...

Review: Teen Titans GO! to the Movies

What I'm about to say may seem hypocritical. About two months ago, I came to the defense of modern cartoons not just because of their maligned animation, but also because they're for a different generation. I, a 23-year-old man, am not...

Screw Stevenbombs, we're getting a Steven Universe movie

I'm a huge fan of Steven Universe, so I was looking forward to their Comic-Con panel all week. After "Heart of the Crystal Gems" concluded a few weeks ago, I needed more of it ASAP. So I was hoping for any news about a possible season 6 thi...

Prepare for DOOOOOOOM with Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus

When Nickelodeon announced last year that they were bringing back Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, and Invader Zim for TV movies, I was floored. I grew up with all of these shows as a kid and I loved to watch them all on reruns, but my favo...

Why was Westworld's second season just okay?

This is not a review of Westworld's second season.  I felt like I needed to get that out of the way right now so no one has any false expectations going into this post. This isn't to talk about the overarching positives and n...

Review: Sicario: Day of the Soldado

So there I was, sitting in a McDonald's in England. It was 2015, and I was killing time since I had the weekend off. I went to my local comic book store and was able to pick up some issues of Justice League since I was behind a few months. ...

Creed II is preying on nostalgia even more!

I don't think I'm alone in thinking that Creed was way better than I thought it was going to be. I thought it'd be a solid movie, but man did it exceed my expectations. Stallone was phenomenal, and Michael B. Jordan was so good that w...

Ranking the best Pixar movies (and Cars 2 I guess...)

I've been a fan of Pixar for most of my life. Whenever Pixar gets around to making a new movie, whether it's an original movie or a sequel, there are a few things you can be certain of. It's going to make a fortune at the box office, i...

Aeon Flux returns to TV as a live-action series

Hey, do you remember Aeon Flux? If you're under the age of 25, probably not. Released back on MTV in the Liquid Television days, Aeon Flux was an animated series that was full of violence, sex, and all around weirdness. The first season was...

Review: Won't You Be My Neighbor?

How can I be a better person? That's the thought that was in my head when I was walking around the streets of New York after seeing Won't You Be My Neighbor?, a documentary detailing the life of Fred Rogers and his show, Mister Rogers' Neig...

The animation of Thundercats Roar doesn't matter

For the past couple of days, my newsfeed on Facebook has been ablaze with people talking about the new Thundercats TV show, Thundercats Roar, and none of it has been positive. People have insulted the show for pissing on...

How to understand the insanity that is the Flixist writers

Flixist has been around since 2010, but for many regular Destructoid readers you're just getting to know us. We're glad you seem to like us for the most part, but... do you really know us? We've had a bunch of new writers (some dr...

Review: Fahrenheit 451

Think back to high school for a minute, as painful as it may be for some. Back in English class, if you're living in America, there's bound to be a handful of books that we all had to read due to them being essential books that everyone sho...

Spoilers: Superman may die in this Death of Superman trailer!

Arguably one of the biggest events in comics was when Superman died in the '90s. I know that a lot of people tend to just shrug their shoulders at death in comic books, but Superman was one of the few characters that just didn't die. How c...

Review: Batman Ninja

While the MCU has dominated theatres for the past decade, DC has been putting out a constant stream of animated movies. Most of their animated movies are adaptations of classic DC stories and if I'm being perfectly honest here, most of them...

About Jesse Labone of us since 10:03 PM on 11.13.2012

Is he sane? Is he even human? Does he have good taste? Who knows! He certainly doesn't...

He's a man of few words, but most of them are pretty introspective and attempt to look at either big issues going on in the world or why Spring Breakers is actually one of the best movies ever made.

He's invented over 330 rules that you must follow whenever you step into his house.

He has backed a few games on Kickstarter, but really only just Shantae: Half Genie Hero and Yooka Laylee (both were pretty good all thing's considered). Plus he's also an avid reader of Nintendo Force.

You'll never guess his favorite movie and if you do he'll buy you a Coke. But not a pop. He'll never buy you a pop.

Oh yeah, and he's also a Features Writer over on Flixist. That's... something he supposes.

He also prefers to speak in 3rd person narration on profiles because that's just the way he rolls. He's kind of an odd fellow like that.
