For some reason I've been feeling down lately, even though I'm feeling great about work. I think it's probably the news. At least I have a long holiday weekend to help me recharge...!

It's weird contrasting how excited I was for KH3 in January versus how I feel about Disney as a whole today. Like I just can't look at the game I hyped up the most this year the same way after noticing how greedy/monopolizing Disney's business has been.

Why couldn't real life school have been as much fun as Fire Emblem Three Houses?

Lil' heads up. Starting today, I'm taking a sabbatical from writing articles for a month or two. It's something I've considered a while and discussed with the editors last week. I'll still be around the community tho, so feel free to poke me for anything!

Days like today make me wish the weekend was 3 days long instead of 2. I'm enjoying it and all, but I don't really feel "refreshed"... at least not yet.

You ever have trouble sleeping and have no idea why? Apparently despite our best efforts, neither myself nor my dad have slept well this whole week...

Just one time... just one time, Activision, I wanted to be wrong to be skeptical about your microtransaction-like cosmetics system in Crash Nitro Fueled. I see now I unwittingly made a good call in waiting rather than buying the moment I had the cash.

I've only just started Three Houses and I think I'm already hooked because I feel like playing for about 10 minutes before work today heck

Long story short, I forgot about the Switch voucher deal, realized I could actually take good advantage of it now (as opposed to when it was announced), and now I own Three Houses. PSA, those vouchers are going off of sale at the end of the month.

Lethal League Blaze excites the competitive casual in me

Like a deconstruction of a shonen protagonist, I admire the spirit of competition, but I'm much more of a casual than a hardcore player. I get a thrill from trying to climb up leaderboards and learning new things about the online versus gam...

For some reason I'm so much happier for this weekend than usual, even though I had a pretty alright work week.

Spontaneous what-if question time: If you had an average AA game development budget and a team that shared your vision, what kind of video game would you want to create?

Now that my God of War PS4 playthrough is a while behind me, it occurs to me... Dad of Boy 2 when?

I don't know whether my child self would be impressed or ashamed that I have such a big collection of games I've not finished so many of them.

Last night I discovered that my moth OC apparently has a page on the Kaiju Fanon Wiki. A practically empty page, but apparently it... exists? Okay?

Lethal League Blaze has a delightful, weird quality where I enjoy every match, even if I got my rear handed to me in a 1v1 and if I had framerate issues (tho still fix Switch Online, Nintendo). I'm just always amused and excited by the outcome of a fight!

Oh no... I think I like Auto Chess. I've barely started playing it, but I think it hits too many of my personal interests.

What is your favorite Final Fantasy combat system?

The Final Fantasy VII remake is a perfect example of Square Enix’s core design philosophy when it comes to combat systems -- which is to say, there isn’t much of one. Sure, the series has its roots in “traditional” R...

There is nothing equivalent to a funky beat.

Starting to get into Crypt of the Necrodancer on PS4. I'm really digging it, but given everything I hear about Cadence of Hyrule being so much easier, I can't help but wonder if I should pick that up soon before I practice Necrodancer too much...!

I fudging love this community. I owe it to myself to try to make myself more active in quickposts and the like again...!

All of this recent talk about how G2A and Epic are devaluing indie games is reminding me... a while back, I boasted about how much I saved on an indie game (and also a bigger full-priced game, but still). In retrospect, not very proud of that.

Kyeeehehehehe... after 600 moth years, I finally did it. I obtained the true source of weeb power...

About Chris Hovermaleone of us since 8:03 PM on 07.31.2017

I'm a former Contributor who goes by the screen name Cedi or CediFonei on most corners of the internet! Not quite obligatory disclosure; I backed Chris Niosi's TOME RPG on Kickstarter. I really wish that wasn't the first Kickstarter game I ever backed...

I first joined the site wanting to make a name for myself as a blogger, and somehow, did so enough to get a good run as a staff member. I left the team so I could better focus on new goals in life, but I hang around the community because I've made so many great friends here. Expect me to share some less critical and more creative shenanigans in the blogs from time to time...!

As far as social media is concerned, you can find me on my personal Twitter account! Fair advice, you can expect to see a lot more of the big blue character in my banner if you check that out. Whether that's a recommendation or a warning depends. By the way, that banner is a commission by Twitter user @kaizer33226.
