My sleep experiment went well. I felt like at least a thousand bucks this morning. Y'all should try it.

I'm going to bed before nine today. I damn well better wake up feeling like a million bucks tomorrow.

Legend of Legaia had some pacing issues, but it managed to stay interesting throughout. If anything, it's cool how much it does with so few polygons and a single disc. Still, that's only one more PS1 JRPG done, with many left. Just how many are there!?

While the weight of my backlog is ever present, I can't help but feel a childish sense of glee over having a pile of games to play. I Just have to allocate the time.

This looks so much nicer when my phone camera doesn't produce a garbled mess. More details in the comments. #shelfietoid

I went back to Absolver to check out the winter update and managed to have an amazing series of duels against the same guy. He trounced me at first, but then I adapted to his moves and managed to win a bit. Moments like that are why I like the game so.

Thank you, Shin Kamitsuno. Riding the rocket punch and kick-flipping it into Goliath has filled me with an incredible amount of motivation.

1bitHeart was a strange experience. It's unique as far as VNs go, but it was also both better and worse than I thought it'd be. Can't say it wasn't worth the $2 or so I bought it for though. I think I might try Miwashiba's new game once it releases.

PSA: Google+ is shutting down, so if you've used it to log in to any sites, you should fix a normal login instead.

Kingdom Hearts 3 has been beaten. I feel complete, but not motivated. Good thing the DMC5 demo is approaching.

I expected many things from KH3, but the fact that it's so funny was unexpected. I get the feeling that I laughed the hardest when I wasn't supposed to though.

Maybe the 13 darknesses represent the years since KH2. Feels like something Nomura would devise. Shoutouts to Gamestop for this cheap piece of crap Monsters Inc yo-yo that no one would ever want. It's not like a tiny Keyblade would be cool or anything.

After half an eternity, I went back to Legend of Legaia. I appreciate just how focused it is, as the pacing is pretty good so far. The dungeons are just so approachable. The kung-fu combat is also pretty entertaining. Looks a bit crap though.

Imma need that demo soon, Capcom. KH3 can only get me so motivated.

Traveller In Playtime 2018 Summary

Well, I did it. You can't say I didn't, the proof is in the posts. I wrote 52 reviews during 2018, which might just constitute some sort of meta gag. I still haven't made up my mind on that. Before we get to the summary list, I thought...

Friendly reminder that you should set up spoiler protection for Kingdom Hearts 3 if you're interested in it.

I played the RE2 demo. Didn't beat it, but it seems to be that good blend of survival horror that I like. The new police station combined with threatening zombies really sells it. Probably gonna beat 7 before getting it though.

Happy birthday, Wes! You'll always be a level 100 Tacomancer in my heart. May your harvests be plentiful and your loins remain lubricated.

2003 came over for a visit. After the mandatory introductory kickflips and rap number, I was told that this is 9/10 experience by the people behind Soul Reaver. Colour me intrigued. And filled to the brim with doubt.

1bitHeart is strange. It starts as a kooky visual novel about a shut-in wanting to make friends, but then turns into a bit of a mystery game with Ace Attorney elements. I'm hoping it develops further once I get deeper into it.

That's Tales of Eternia beaten for the second time! I was worried that I had just convinced myself that it's better than it actually is after playing the 2 previous games. But no, it refined everything that came before it into something truly special.

My laptop is back from its hospital stay and seems to be recovering well from its case transplant. This pleases me immensely. I just hope this repair job will last longer than a month.

Turns out that the last disc in the game of Higher Education is the worst. I've sacrificed much to come this far, and come hell or obscure segmentation faults, I'm getting that diploma!

I don't think there's a better way to sell someone on the Ys series than this video. Just skip around randomly and see what cool music and dope fights you can find.

Turns out that Tales of Eternia is even better than I remembered, since I had missed that Farah has a Dragon Uppercut move first time through. That's rad.

About Kerrik52one of us since 3:12 AM on 02.28.2016

Greetings, one and all. I'm known as Kerrik52 around these parts and I think I'm pretty swell, for a Swedish dude.

I love all games, except the bad ones. I play games when possible, thinking I'll eventually break into heaven. I'm currently studying computer science.

I have written some blogs here exploring old games by From Software with more to come later. Not to mention my "salty bitching" series on the Souls-games.

I also have a little Youtube channel bearing my name that mostly contains videos related to my blogs.

At present, I am writing weekly reviews, which is a fun exercise.

I some games/series I love are:

Dark Souls
God Hand
Resident Evil 4
Tales of Eternia
Kingdom Hearts
Jak & Daxter
King's Field
Devil May Cry
Legacy of Kain
Shadow Hearts
Shin Megami Tensei
Legend of Heroes
Ape Escape

I have a very low standard for movies, but I have some favorites. These include:

The Secret Life of Walter Witty
Pooh's Grand Adventure
Scott Pilgrim VS the World

The last TV shows I watched were House, Mythbusters and Fringe.

Anime on the other hand, is something I watch often. I like:

Gonna Be the Twintail
Black Rock Shooter
Fist of the Northstar

I don't read very much anymore, but I like Asimov and Lovecraft.

Music-wise I'm an apostle of Dio and the German power metal scene. Other favorites include:

Gamma Ray
Iron Savior
Freedom Call
Axel Rudi Pell

Go ahead and share a piece of your world with me and I'll pay back in kind. Don't be deterred if I answer you in a wall of text though. I despise unfulfilling writing and will do all it takes to make my points.
