See an empty locker room in this Space Jam 2 teaser

Growing up in the late 90's, I loved Space Jam. I remember watching that movie every single week with my friends and loving it from beginning to end. I wasn't even a fan of basketball but I just loved watching the Looney Toons be thems...

Review: Assassination Nation

I'm not going to lie about Assassination Nation. The content in this movie is, frankly, uncomfortable to sit through. The movie begins by showing trigger warnings of all of the horrible things that happen over the course movie and tells the...

The DC Extended Universe needs to die

I remember back in 2013 when Man of Steel came out. It was meant to be the big return of the Blue Boyscout to theatres after 2006's groan-worthy Superman Returns. After its release, people were split on whether or not Man of Steel was a goo...

Alan Wake fans rejoice! Earlier today, it was announced that Alan Wake is going to be adapted into a television series with Sam Lake, the original creator heavily involved in the production of the live-action series as its executive produce...

Comedies today are a tragedy

Last month, The Happytime Murders opened to a pretty tepid response, both critically and financially. Having a budget of $40 million, not including advertising, so far the movie has only made half of that back and it's been out for well ove...

The Academy nixes Best Popular Film from this year's Oscars

Earlier in the summer, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced a few changes to their Oscar broadcast. Most of the details were pretty nebulous, but the one that got most critics and fans in a tizzy was that the Academy wa...

Sharknado isn't so bad it's good; it's just bad

When I pitched to Flixist's Supreme Overlord Matt a Sharknado Retrospective, I had a pretty clear-cut goal in mind. I wanted to look at all six movies in the franchise, with the most recent one being last month's The Last Sharknado: It's Ab...

Review: Preacher (Season 3)

Preacher has always been a show where the quality varies wildly from season to season. Season 1 was overall very good but felt like it was trying too hard to distinguish itself from its source material, which caused the characters to suffer...

Netflix brings on Alex Hirsch to make exclusive content

Netflix has been unstoppable when it comes to securing a strong presence in the animation industry. They already have fantastic shows like Bojack Horseman, Trollhunters, Voltron, and Castlevania, and that's not even mentioning the countless...

Review: Slender Man

Slender Man hasn't been relevant in internet culture for years. Remember how back in 2012 Slender Man was all of the rage? Youtubers were going nuts over Slender: The Eight Pages, there were a bunch of fan games, and then the whole thi...

Review: Christopher Robin

Winnie-the-Pooh is a character that I was afraid to admit I liked. I'm not ashamed to say that I love to watch Disney movies, but Winnie-the-Pooh always had an air with it that it was for babies. It seemed too childish for me for a long tim...

The gang's all here for Castlevania Season 2's first trailer

When it was announced that Netflix was producing a Castlevania series, I was cautiously optimistic about it. I love the series to the bottom of my heart, my personal favorite entries are Symphony of the Night, Harmony of Dissonance, and Ro...

Review: Teen Titans GO! to the Movies

What I'm about to say may seem hypocritical. About two months ago, I came to the defense of modern cartoons not just because of their maligned animation, but also because they're for a different generation. I, a 23-year-old man, am not...

Screw Stevenbombs, we're getting a Steven Universe movie

I'm a huge fan of Steven Universe, so I was looking forward to their Comic-Con panel all week. After "Heart of the Crystal Gems" concluded a few weeks ago, I needed more of it ASAP. So I was hoping for any news about a possible season 6 thi...

Prepare for DOOOOOOOM with Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus

When Nickelodeon announced last year that they were bringing back Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, and Invader Zim for TV movies, I was floored. I grew up with all of these shows as a kid and I loved to watch them all on reruns, but my favo...

Why was Westworld's second season just okay?

This is not a review of Westworld's second season.  I felt like I needed to get that out of the way right now so no one has any false expectations going into this post. This isn't to talk about the overarching positives and n...

About Jesse Labone of us since 10:03 PM on 11.13.2012

Is he sane? Is he even human? Does he have good taste? Who knows! He certainly doesn't...

He's a man of few words, but most of them are pretty introspective and attempt to look at either big issues going on in the world or why Spring Breakers is actually one of the best movies ever made.

He's invented over 330 rules that you must follow whenever you step into his house.

He has backed a few games on Kickstarter, but really only just Shantae: Half Genie Hero and Yooka Laylee (both were pretty good all thing's considered). Plus he's also an avid reader of Nintendo Force.

You'll never guess his favorite movie and if you do he'll buy you a Coke. But not a pop. He'll never buy you a pop.

Oh yeah, and he's also a Features Writer over on Flixist. That's... something he supposes.

He also prefers to speak in 3rd person narration on profiles because that's just the way he rolls. He's kind of an odd fellow like that.
