3D Dot Game Heroes screenshots: Not the bees!

As someone who is sick to death of modern Japanese RPGs and all their overfamiliar tropes, I find the idea of 3D Dot Game Heroes — a game that mercilessly parodies Japanese RPGs and all their overfamiliar tropes — to be thoroughly refreshing. There isn’t enough parody in gaming, and this one looks like it’ll be awesome.

Here are a bunch of new screenshots for the game, courtesy of Andria Sang. The blocky art style has been made beautiful on the PS3, demonstrating that simplicity can often look as good as, if not better than, your average gritty explosions-and-lighting-effects AAA game. 

Really looking forward to seeing how this game progresses. If done right, it could be absolute genius.
