(Update) Watch the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer reveal right here

Streamed on Twitch

[Update: You can find the multiplayer trailer above! The roughly three-minute breakdown gives us a look at the drop-in round kickoff that was teased recently, as well as a look at a few maps, some killstreaks, and plenty of night vision footage. The arenas shown include Azhir Cave, Euphrates Bridge, Gun Runner, Grazna Raid, all set to the tune of Metallica's "Enter Sandman." The PS4 exclusive beta will begin on September 12 running through September 16, with September 14-16 operating as open beta access periods.

In case you were worried that this entry would only focus on smaller skirmishes, thankfully Activision put that to bed today. The publisher notes: "Players can jump into new play spaces that redefine Call of Duty multiplayer, from quick-action, close-quarters 2 vs. 2 experiences in Gunfight, traditional 6 vs. 6 multiplayer gameplay, modes that support 10 vs. 10 and 20 vs. 20 firefights, along with high-player count maps and combat, such as the all-new Ground War, an epic large-scale mode supporting more than 100-players." Activision also reminds players that the season pass is gone and free content will arrive after launch.

Feel free to chill and watch the rest of the lengthy livestream below.]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is now extremely annoying to Google due to the existence of 2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (which put the series back on the map), is ready to really show us its multiplayer component today.

Previously Activision showcased the campaign at press events and gave us small glimpses of what's to come outside of that; but today is the day, and at 1PM ET the publisher will be streaming their big reveal ahead of its October 25 launch. You can watch the reveal directly below, and we'll be updating you with the latest information as it comes.

Note that this stream involves two factors: a Nintendo Direct style pre-programmed trailer, followed by an actual livestream that shows off real matches. This is a marathon-level event, as the post-show is set to air at 5PM ET, which means the whole shebang is over four hours long. Strap in!
