There was a time where writing for a video games website was all I ever wanted. I use to put so much effort into making my old dtoid community blog look good, that I forgot to think about how some of the stupid shit I wrote could really upset others, or just make me look like a dickhead. And I was. Believe me, I was. I think a majority of us think that about ourselves from 10 years ago.
I'm still playing games. Though I recently cut down by getting rid of all my last gen consoles after attempting to play Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4. I played it for about 20 minutes before i took it back to the shop I bought it from and get a refund. I was fast on that front, as the store owners told me they had no complaints or returns just yet. I told them to wait. Less than a week later an Playstation removes it from their store.
It's been a long time my fellow dtoiders. I hope that throughout the last decade you've grown as a person and grown to appreciate the interactive medium known as gaming just as much, if not more. And if there's still some folk around from back in the day, where the community blogs were the best part about Destructoid, then don't be a stranger. I've been thinking about getting back into doing the blogs here, but I got my chance at working officially for the dtoid family and I fucked that up within a month. Not sure if the story is still told throughout the old school founders and editors of the site, but I really went above and beyond by replying to an email that was made specifically for the developers, and I sure as shit wasn't supposed to.
Anyway. Just thought id drop in and say hey. I'll be getting a new gaming rig very soon so for any of you oldschool friends and followers who want to stay in touch with good ol, mr dillinger, don't be a stranger.
I hope you're well <3
