Featuring Yoshis Island and some more country music.
Greetings fellow game music lovers,
since I have heavy headaches today I have decided to make it short and bring some more Super Mario World 2 - Yoshis Island (1995) outtakes.
First we have a section from the so-called Overworld theme:
I have several songs so far with somewhat similar structures, again mostly from the country domain. The first one is called "Billy Bayou" and was a #1 Country & Western hit in 1958:
Dolly Parton - If You Need Me (1991):
Linda Ronstadt - Love is a Rose (1975):
Marshall Tucker Band - Hillybilly Band (1976):
John Mellencamp - Cheap Shot (1980):
Some oddballs. First is something that sounds like an evil version of the jingle: J. Geils Band - No Doubt About it (1973):
The other one is from the song "Promises" by punk rock band Buzzcocks first released as single in 1978:
If I had to make a final verdict subjectively the song feels like a carribean-style remix of a bluegrass standard.
I will now fall ded in bed.
Phil out of order.
