Featuring Illusion of Gaia and mostly Synth Pop.
Greetings fellow game music lovers,
before the new month begins, I dare to return to a major SNES rpg one more time: Illusion of Gaia from 1994.
Shortly before the end of the game there is a romantic song that plays on the top of the Tower of Babel when the souls of several deceased characters return to help the protagonists with a second wind against the approaching evil comet with the final villain on it called "Returned Memory":
For the beginning of the song I can offer a section from the song 笑顔 "Smiling Face" by japanese Kayōkyoku band Toi et Moi from 1969:
Alternatively we have "Romantic Dance" by Shinji Harada from 1988:
For the part beginning at 0:14 there is a section in Paul Allens & Carol Sager's "Don't Cry Out Loud" from 1976 that reminds me a lot of this one:
Silver medalist for this part is "Ryusei Shojo" by Yoko Oginome from 1984:
Sunday Final Fantasy!
Phil out.
