Good morning Destructoid! It's that wonderful time of the week! It's Friday!
My week went fast and almost so smoothly. Almost. Yesterday was the absolute worst day at my job at the hospital. I had to cover all day in the ER due to an annoying amount of call offs. So my actual job didn't get done, which is fine. Minor annoyance but it's understandable since they desperately needed the help so I was ok with providing it. The issue was how insanely busy it was. Trauma after trauma, ambu after ambu. Tons of walk in patients, it was just a hot mess. As if that wasn't bad enough, we had a pretty big safety concern that I felt was taken way to lightly.
So I work in one of the bigger hospitals in my area of AZ. We constantly get patients transferred from smaller locations who don't have the proper equipment to treat certain patients. So we see the worst of the worst. That said, we obviously deal with Covid patients. Yesterday, we were so full, that we had two Covid positive patients waiting to be seen in our ER waiting area...With all the other patients that have not tested positive for Covid. It was packed. Everyone was of course required to wear a mask, but so fucking what? People wear the damn things incorrectly all the time or take them off for a bit for whatever reason. The excuse was, we're so full and have no where to put them. It's a big place and yes, we were full but we could have done something to isolate the positive patients from the others. We also use to have Covid tents just right outside the ER entrance for this very reason but they took them away once our numbers went down. Well, our daily Covid numbers have gone right back up and I fear it's only going to get worse. Maybe I'm over reacting? It was only two patients, but I'm concerned for all the other patients we just could have potentially exposed. That's on us and I'm not ok with it. I'm angry, I'm incredibly stressed and I legitmately can't stop thinking about it. I'll be having a meeting with one of my supervisors first thing Monday morning to go over safety concerns and I truly hope they take it to heart and it leads to positive change.
Other then dealing with that bs, I've picked up Fallout New Vegas again. I've only beaten one of the expansions, so I'm planning on beating all of them this time around. Playing on PC for the first time with some mods and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Even if I'm retarded and can't figure out how to get the texture mods to work properly lol. So same old look but with some fun mods added and I'm just fine with that. Still loving the hell out of it. I plan on playing more Bloodborne this weekend too.
The gf and I finished watching The Haunting of Bly Manor annnnnd I'll just go ahead and say it wasn't perfectly splendid. I wanted to like it soooo bad but I found it so perfectly boring. It had some good ideas and I actually really enjoyed the last two episodes, even if the story dragged on and was told painfully slow. Ultimately, I was overall disappointed as I was seriously hyped for this one. Oh well. They can't all be winners.
