as a quasi continuation of the Super Mario World main theme this week is now the same for the Super Mario 64 (1996) incarnation which also comes down to a certain sequence of notes that gets remixed for several levels of the game in different styles. It can be heard clearest in the first level, the Bob-Omb Battlefield:
Again, I have the impression that Kondo has taken a big gulp from Miyamotos bluegrass collection as I found several country rock artists from the 70s and 80s that have note sequence that are pretty reminiscent of said theme.
