Los Santos, the fictional city you inhabit in Grand Theft Auto V, isn't a safe area what with all the crimes and people with missile launchers online. But, the worst threats are the players who like to utilize an exploit known as "passive popping". It might not sound scary, but believe me, it can be a pain.
First off, what the heck is passive popping? Well, it is an exploit where players go into what Rockstar refers to as "Passive Mode". While in this mode, players cannot kill or be killed. Basically, it allows you to enjoy the game without the danger of being shot or killed within minutes of entering a server. Tricky players have, however, found an exploit that allows them to turn off passive mode at the right moment. These players will usually use this while in a jet or armed vehicle. They will act in Passive Mode and when the time is right, they attack a player minding their own business.
Passive popping was the bane of many's existences when going online, especially in 2015. But, with a patch released alongside the Diamond Casino, this has been severely hindered. Rockstar has added some limitations to Passive Mode, much to the chagrin of trolls.
The update certainly had an impact on the GTA V Online Reddit community with many praising this decision.
What do you think of this update? Are you happy to see Rockstar taking action against trolls? Are you one of the trolls? Don't worry . . . I won't judge.
