Good Wednesday to everybody,
tonights entry is a little bit different from the others as you need to listen very closely and I'm also a little bit unsure myself, but I cannot get it out of my head.
Today's topic is the Area 1 theme of the 1993 SNES game Super Bomberman which also serves as a leitmotiv throughout the game:
Now while listening to this I was to some extent reminded of the 1980 song "Don't you mind" from the New Wave / Post Punk band Devo:
It is a little bit difficult to hear, but let me detail which connections I made:
- The seconds 0:00-0:02 of the Super Bomberman clip feel to me like a slighty differently accentuated version of the recurring motiv that plays also around 0:13-0:15 of the Devo song, if you regard the guitar and the drum as one instrument.
- The seconds from 0:02-0.04 may count as repetition of the first sequence with slightly alterated ending.
- The seconds 0:04-0:06 of the Super Bomberban clip feel to me like a slightly differently accentuated version of the recurring motiv that plays also around 0:15-0:18 of the Devo song if you regard the guitar and the drum as one instrument.
I know this may be a little bit far fetched, so I'm curious what you have to say about this.
