There is a bit of sadness that comes with making this series, as some of my top choices are likely to never receive a sequel for one reason or another. For some there have been talks official and unofficial but as the days go on my hopes fade. One on these games is Alan Wake
Alan Wake: Theme Alan Wake steam:[MBQLH-JTLFG-H40EF]
The video includes the whole soundtrack but I’m focusing on the first song which is the first 5 minutes of the video. It’s very fitting as a dark melancholic tune. You see throughout the course of the game Alan Wake loses almost everything he cared about. This is also in addition to his personal issuse such as insomnia and a substance abuse problem. Suffering from writers block (on top of everything) he goes on vacation, only to have his wife taken by a sinister presence called the darkness. He manages to save her but not without being trapped in the darkness himself. It’s like being trapped in a room with a one way mirror. You can see everyone you love live on but you, you’re trapped and alone. To be utterly and truly alone is something many people don't really experience. Frankly it is truly terrifying to be definitivly alone.
There is some hope that he will be able to leave the darkness but even with the DLC there isn’t a definitive answer leaving a lot of us wanting more, and wanting we will stay because the sequel was canned which is another horror for another day.
