Hello everyone and welcome to day 7. Boy these days sure fly by. I felt like I was celebrating my sisters sweet 16 just the other day. Now it’s a totally different month and we march ever onward to the end of the year. Speaking of time todays song is
Zombies ate my neighbors: Weird Kids on the block FF5LR-I4YAK-H3ZD3
It might be hard to imagine now but there was a time where zombies were not as prevalent as they are today. In fact I would say they were somewhat of a rarity, at least the apocalyptic kind in terms of games. I remember getting my hands on this game years ago and loving every minute of it. Being a 2 player game I played with my brother often.
There was just something about the way it plays that I still find very appealing to this day, even more so than a game like Death Road to Canada despite them being similar. Collecting items and saving people was very fun, the variety of enemies was also great as it covered many different monsters rather than it just being about zombies. I enjoyed collecting better weapons and exploring every nook and cranny for items I could add to my arsenal. Another thing that I like about this game over Death Road, is that you aren’t fucked over between every stage by events out of your control. I suppose I enjoy the consistency of zombies ate my neighbors over the randomness of Death Road.
It’s really a shame that we’ll never get anything quite like Zombies ate my neighbors. Despite many games coming along over the years. The only one to come close at all was state of decay and even then it lacks the quirky charm of ZaMN.
