Now that everyone in the world has bitched about Tuesday's announcement that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be online but won't have voice chat, I'd like to say something to those people:
If it means that much to you, do not buy the game.
First, I'd like to say I've come to agree with a couple of the arguments being made about how Nintendo is fucking this up. Generally, I don't play games online, so at first I didn't really care about lack of voice chat. I realized I'd probably play online games more often however if I didn't have to jump through Nintendo's hoops. So it's a fair criticism, in my opinion. It's still not a dealbreaker for me in terms of getting the game.
Now, onto the point: There are some out there who claim this decision by Nintendo is unacceptable
, yet further down in their rants they admit they will still be purchasing the game
If you are one of those people, congratulations, you've just contradicted yourself!
Now, I obviously believe it's perfectly fine to change one's mind. Apparently doing so without really thinking in the same breath is silly, though. So, please, scale back the hyperbole so you avoid annoying me and looking like a jackass. I'll try to do the same.
