Toshio Iwai, creator of the cult DS classic Electroplankton - which isn't so much a game as it is a playable music... toy... thing - has spent the last few years in collaboration with Yamaha to produce an equally hard-to-categorize sequencer instrument called Tenori-On. Peep the vids below:
The illuminated silver tablet of epic legend was recently test-launched in the UK, but remains something of a boutique item at 600 pounds. Here's hoping Yamaha opts for a mass-production release to bring costs down.
PRO TIP: Regulus was the ice boss in
Bomberman 64, a great game that was
nonetheless forgotten so quickly that I
currently own half of all the existing
cartridges. The other one belongs to a
seal trapper in Finland, and if the two
are ever brought together, it will bring
about the End of Days.
