So let's get this out of the way: I fucking love Nioh. I've never gone from zero interest to pre-order so fast in my life. And this is significant because I've never been into From Software's brand of Souls and Bloodbornes. But Nioh's got many different aspects floating around its DNA like Ninja Gaiden (Team Ninja), Dark Souls (the RPG elements), and Devil May Cry (the multitude of combat upgrades). But like anything worth its salt in the modern blogosphere zeitgeist, opinions on Nioh are divided. Some people didn't like Nioh despite disclosing their love of Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Some people think Nioh is way harder than the aforementioned games while others think it's actually easier and therefore meant for babies to play when Dark Souls kicks their ass.
I think it's worth discussing and sharing everyone's thoughts on Nioh. It's worth mentioning that Nioh has been a long time coming, trapped in development hell for years. But From Software practically has a monopoly on the special brand of RPG it has created, unlike Resident Evil 4 spawning countless imitators in the 3rd-person, over the shoulder shooter department. So, what did you like about what Nioh has to offer so far with its two demos, two weeks before release? What do you not like? And do you think this game is harder or easier than the From Software brand of constant death RPG? Leave a comment below, and I'll take everything from this post along with any interested staffers to a front page post to see definitively just where Nioh stands in the Souls formula of game.
