Intro + Prologue + Chapter 1
Chapter 2 - The reason why I'm summarizing the most important story beats for these blog series is because I'm reading through the original version of Chapter 2 to remember what I wrote, and I think the first 500 words are literally just "thoughts." So, cutting through the fat, the chapter starts with Hikaru playing an MMO to take his mind off what happened — noting that it's several days later since he spoke to Hitomi or Manami. When he gets thristy, he leaves his room and sees Manami. Still awkward between the two, she immediately retreats to her room. However, when Hikaru goes back to gaming mindlessly, he starts having flashback.
When he was a kid, he remembers the day Hitomi's family moved in across the street. Although he was too afraid to face them directly, Hikaru peeked through the living room curtains in order to see who they are. When he spots a girl around his age — she's older, because of course she is — he starts taking an interest in her, which Manami notices. She slaps Hikaru on the back as hard as she can when she arrives as a surprise.

"Whatcha doing...?" she asks innocently, flashing a smile as if she hadn't done anything wrong.
"Just... checking out the new neighbors," Hikaru grimaces as he rubs his back to soothe the pain.
"Checking out all of the new neighbors?" Manami couldn't hold back curling up another smile, "Or just that girl over there?"
Manami then pulls down the living room curtains hard enough that it leaves a very wide opening, which Hikaru quickly pulls back. Manami teases that Hikaru doesn't want his "new girlfriend" to think that he's a stalker, but Hikaru tells Manami that he's not even into girls... before saying that Manami is the exception. Manami tries to encourage Hikaru to go out and speak to the girl, but Hikaru is too shy, saying that he would rather not get involved. Manami tells him it's too late for that though, as she points out that their parents are calling them over.
"You think they saw us?" Hikaru asks.
"Sweetie," Hikaru hears his mother calling out, "We know you're there! Come on out and say hi to the new neighbors!"
"Oh great," Hikaru rolls his eyes as he looks at Manami, "They saw you."

So, despite Hikaru's reluctance to go out there and meet them, Manami shoves him out the front door and lock it before he could run back in. Since he's shy, he cautiously approaches the neighbors, but hides behind his mom. His mom tells the neighbors that he's shy, and they reply that he just has to get to know them better. The girl, who is revealed to be Hitomi, then perks up and tells Hikaru that his mom has already told the neighbors all about him, and that they should hang out together. When Hikaru's mom tells them that cliched mom response "that's a wonderful idea," Hitomi excitedly drags Hikaru back to her house.
When they get to her room, Hikaru notes —aside from how strong Hitomi is — that her room doesn't look like an average girl's room like Manami's. She gives him a list of options of things to do, and when Hikaru hears "videogames", Hitomi tells him that she loves to play games. She even points out that since her parents didn't like her playing videogames in her room alone — just like Hikaru's parents don't like Hikaru being cooped up by himself — her mom suggested that they might as well play videogames together. So, they decide to boot up a fighting game for some friendly competition.

"You aren't giving me a busted controller now, are you?" Hikaru jokingly accuses as he unwraps the cord.
"As if I need to cheat to win," Hitomi snipes.
She didn't. Although I'm not really into "gamer girls", I always find it attractive when a woman beats a man at something. Luckily, since I'm actually a very horrible gamer, I imagine if I dated a gamer, she could kick my ass and I'd consider it foreplay. So, of course, Hitomi wins.
"Tch," Hikaru clicks his tongue in defeat, "You got lucky."
"Aw, don't be a sore loser," Hitomi cocks her head towards him.
"I'm not being a sore loser," Hikaru quickly respond, "I'm just saying it ain't gonna happen again."
It did. :3 He even tries to cheat by unplugging her controller and knocking it out of her hands, but she manages to come back and beat him anyway.

Regardless, after they played a couple of rounds, Hitomi could hear Hikaru's stomach growling. Because she's the host, she offers to get Hikaru to eat. He reluctantly accepts — I always find it awkward to eat at someone else's house — but instead of going to the kitchen, Hitomi immediately dives into her closet. After digging in deep, giving Hikaru a shot of her rear — wait a minute, she's a little girl in this flashback! — she pulls out a "Easy Bake" oven (I called them "Quix Mix"). She then pulls out a couple of packets like playing cards and asks Hikaru to "pick a card, any card" before getting started. Hikaru offers to help, but Hitomi tells Hikaru that she wants to do all of the work because "there's only room for one cook in the kitchen and that's me!"
As she pops it all in the oven and wait for it to bake, Hikaru notes how much fun she had. She confesses that she always liked making people smile with food, but since she couldn't use the oven, she begged her parents to buy her a QuixMix oven so she can bake for them. She then tells Hikaru that she'll cook for him anytime, before deciding to give him a rematch since it's going to take some time before the food is finished.

Back in the present day, the flashback reminds Hikaru of how hungry he is, so he decides to go get something to eat. With his hand on the door handle, he prays that he wouldn't run into Manami again... so obviously, when he opens the door, she's out in the hall. After cursing "oh come on!" under his breath, spooking Manami, he then stops her from going back to her room. He tells her that he wants to talk about what happened, but Manami is too embarrassed to address it. However, Hikaru wants to get it over with so they can be friends again, and Manami wants that too, so she invites him to her room to discuss it.
"You can have a seat on the bed," she tells him.
He stares at it awkwardly.
"Did you clean the sheets or...?"
Manami opens the door. "Get out."
(After beating around the bush...)
"So," Manami moves on to the real reason, "Where should we start?"
"Well, why don't we try talking to each other about we feel about this whole 'incident,'" Hikaru suggests.
"Alright then," Manami agrees, "See, when a woman uses her fingers to touch herself 'there,' it feels absolutely-"
"Not that!" Hikaru covers his ears.

Anyway, the two realize that the reason they both have trouble talking about this already awkward subject is because they're brothers and sisters. They see each other as very close people, and sometimes it can be hard to see the other person as an "actual person." Manami then admits that she never had "the talk" with their parents about sex, and Hikaru admits that he didn't get "the talk" either. Manami then shyfully asks if Hikaru needs her to talk about it, but he kind of laughs it off, which makes her laugh it off. She tells Hikaru that all the "fancy technical terms" isn't necessary, that you can learn everything you want to learn with porn.
When Hikaru hears that word (porn, not "fancy technical terms"), he remembers that Manami was watching a hardcore gangbang. When she asks him what's on his mind, he admits what's bugging him, so Manami joking asks Hikaru if he wants to borrow her DVD. He answers no.
"Don't be shy," Manami shrugs "I mean, it's natural for people to like that kind of stuff..."
"Yeah, perverts..." Hikaru scoffs good-naturely.
She gasps. "Hey, I watch that!"
"And am I wrong?" Hikaru smirks.
Although he meant it as a good-natured joke, he realizes that being judgmental about the type of porn she watches is bringing her down in the dumps, so he apologizes. She's still a bit depressed, so Hikaru tries to do that typical "oh, psh, I'm just kidding, of COURSE I like gangbangs and all that stuff" in order to cheer her up. He even asks if he could borrow the DVD and that they could discuss the contents like a film study... but then Manami, all of a sudden, asks Hikaru if they could watch it together.
