REVIEW: Blossom Blast Saga (Android/iOS)

"The feeling you get is that you're one of those space monkeys. Push a button. Pull a lever. You don't understand any of it, and then you just die."       -Chuck Palahniuk

Blossom Blast Saga is a game by King.com.

You have to touch positions on a grid, like Candy Crush, but it's a hex based grid, which is not like Candy Crush.

You have to match colours, like Candy Crush, but you have to match them in a group rather than in a row, which is not like Candy Crush.

Success in this is rewarded by sounds and graphical effects which make your brain produce adrenaline and endorphines, like Candy Crush. However, the mechanic for chaining these rewards is based on aggregating your groups to make the flowers grow bigger and bigger in an even pattern so that they all cause each other to bloom at the same time, which is not like Candy Crush.

Blossom Blast Saga is pretty, fun, lightweight and an excellent way to make your brain feel happy in your downtime at work, until the point at which it isn't at which point it will ruin your life and plague your peace of mind until you shove a dollar into it to skip the level.

About Dalek Sexone of us since 3:11 PM on 02.27.2013

Z list internet comic. I have worked on stuff for podcasts like What A Fool Believes, We Are The Lolocaust, The Monday Movie Show and The Gamescast. I named myself while I was blogging for Tachyon TV. There is a Dr. Who character called "Dalek Sec," only I made it a penis joke. Witty.

I have a Youtube channel where I play terrible mobile games. Sometimes I write and sing funny songs, like the Tailspin theme I rewrote to be about Jonathan Holmes.

Every print magazine and most of the websites I have ever written for have collapsed pyrotechnically within months, making me the Typhoid Mary of games journalism.

I used to write and manage the front page of Encyclopedia Dramatica when it was still good (pre-2008).

I got fired from NTSC-UK once.
