SPECIAL: Top-10 Anticipated Games of 2015

   0

2014 is almost over (just a matter of days now) and it's been an 'alright' year for videogames; there have been some absolute gems released in the second half of the year but it seemed like a lot of stuff was either rushed out unfinished and broken, or delayed until next year. With that in mind it's time to start thinking about all the awesome stuff to look forward to in 2015!! There are lots of big-name 'AAA' titles that I will likely be picking up such as Batman: Arkham Knight, Uncharted 4: A Thief's EndWitcher 3: Wild Hunt as well as some excellent re-releases and remasters such as Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, which I'm very much looking forward to. However, below is my list of the Top-10 games that I'm *most* excited about, because they're either franchises that I care a lot about, or they're something different and potentially excellent. Apologies in advance for the slightly-weeaboo nature of the list, and I haven't written a lot about each one, rather letting the embedded trailers speak for themselves.

10.) Persona 4: Dancing All Night (PSVita/PSTV)
There's not much coming out specifically for the PSVita next year, but there is this rhythm/dance game based on Persona 4, which if you've played you'll know had some *awesome* music. I loved Final Fantasy Theatrhythm, and so I'm hoping this game is just as addictive and along the same sort of lines. Heartbreak Heartbreak!!

9.) Bravely Second (3DS)
While the end-game was a bit of a slip-up, Bravely Default was in my opinion the best Final Fantasy game in a long time. It looks like it's becoming a series now in it's own right with this sequel and a mobile game spin-off. I look forward to more adventures with the lovable cast. Plus, it looks beautiful!

8.) Deep Down (PS4)
This game could be poop, and the modern day sections have me worried, but the dungeon crawling combat reminds me of the 'Souls games (Demon's Souls specifically) mixed with Dragon's Dogma. This could be a winning combination for me, and so against my better judegment, I'm *very* excited. Please be good!

7.) Silent Hills (Multi)
If P.T. and the concept trailer are anything to go by, I'm going to absolutely poop my pants over the next Silent Hill game, which looks like a really strong return to its J-horror roots. With Kojima and Del Toro at the helm, the production can't get anymore A-list!! I loved P.T. at any rate, and would be fine with a first-person Silent Hill.

6.) Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS)
I really thought that Ocarina of Time 3D was a *massive* improvement over the original, both in terms of graphics but also the gameplay enhancements and tweaks. I'm really hoping that Nintendo pull through and do the same for Majora's Mask (please implement a new save-anywhere feature!).

5.) No Man's Sky (PS4)
This is one of those games that is either going to be absolutely amazing or really disappointing; my fingers are crossed that it'll be the former. As a huge fan of old space shooters like Colony Wars, I'm looking forward to sitting on my sofa and playing a similar experience, albeit with awesome procedurally generated worlds.

4.) Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (Multi)
Metal Gear Solid is one of my favourite videogame series of all time, and I've played them all, including Ground Zeroes, which I thought was excellent. The Phantom Pain will hopefully, if the trailer is anything to go by, be another absolute classic in a series of classics, even if there's no David Hayter *sniff*.

3.) Legend of Zelda (WiiU)
Zelda is one of the most revered series in gaming, and I've picked up every entry over the past few years (decades!?), this will be no exception. The WiiU title looks quite ambitious, and it'll be interesting to see what Nintendo chooses to do with the formula; also will there be motion controls? Gamepad support? etc. Can't wait!!

2.) Persona 5 (PS4/PS3)
Having played through Persona 4 Golden this year, and it being my *true* game of 2014 (see my review), I'm now ultra-excited about its follow-up Persona 5. The fact that it's also being released onto PS4 just sweetens the deal, as not only should it hopefully run in 1080p on my TV, but I can also remote play it to the PSVita.

1.) Bloodborne (PS4)
As a huge fan of the 'Souls series, this game has been top of my list ever since its leak as "Project Beast", to learn that Miyazaki himself is hemling the title just made it an even more delicious prospect. I've already got the collector edition preordered, so confident am I that this game will deliver. I played the alpha at the EGX expo and *loved it*.

About n0signalone of us since 2:01 AM on 10.06.2014

Videogames have come a long way since the 8-bit and 16-bit days of old, and it is now one of the most interesting and constantly-evolving storytelling mediums. I started blogging about videogames a few years ago because I am very passionate about certain experiences I've had, which I don't think could have existed outside of our unique hobby, and I wanted to share this with other like-minded people on the internet.

I'm based in the UK and my favourite videogame of all time is probably still Shadow of the Colossus, but other more recent games such as the impeccable Dark Souls and Journey have given it a run for its money. My other interests, and things I have blogged extensively about, are board games and Japanese anime. I've got a degree in Media Communications and Film, and I'm currently a Teacher of ICT.

I post fairly regularly on my personal blog at https://n0timportant.blogspot.co.uk/, so please visit there for legacy videogame reviews and articles on anime, boardgames, etc.
