GamesRadar Accidentally Names Destiny as its Game of the Year

   0

In what is being called the biggest blunder of 2014, the editors of GamesRadar mistakenly named Destiny as their 2014 Game of the Year.

“It started out as a joke,” said Managing Editor Jann Jones. “I said ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I voted for Destiny to be our game of the year?’ We all had a good laugh about it, like 10 straight minutes of laughter. Anyway, when it came time to vote I wrote in Destiny, you know for the joke, and apparently so did everyone else.”

Destiny, developed by Bungie and published by Activision, has been one of the most divisive games of the year with some players calling it a boring grind while others say it’s a poorly written mess of an MMO-wannabe.

In wake of the boner, GamesRadar has gone on damage control, alleging the website had actually selected Destiny on purpose.

Destiny is our game of the year, just as we intended. However we would like our readers to know that the current version of the game is not,” explained Features Editor Henry Gilbert. “The version of Destiny that is our game of the year is the one that existed for two weeks in October when the loot caves were still around and The Queen’s Wrath wasn’t a goddamn waste of time.”
