You helped raise $525 for charity, you deserve a reward (Raffle Results)

All of Destructoid worked hard for the G3 Charity event that we did this month. We got a few different people to donate items and it's time to reward the people that helped me reach my goal. You raised the money guys. I'm giving you the goods.

This is my way of thanking this community for being awesome.

I tried to find some sponsors for this event to really get you all motivated and it worked. Of the 30 or so people I asked, 3 got back to me. Hamza Aziz (AKA Sharky McSharkpants) came in with a code from his recent Subway Uncharted event and an old Worms code. The Behemoth one upped him by giving us 5 codes of our choosing for Castle Crashers. That's big. To one up Hamza is a huge thing. Finally, the Destructoid Community team threw in a $10 PSN card and Super Meat Boy on PC.

Since I have none of these things I envy all of you. I'm out of the Raffle, but I'm more than happy to give my peeps some stuff. As a side note, support The Behemoth and Team Destructoid for the real Extra-Life 24 hour marathon on October 15th. They will all be working really hard for your donations and I've been working to make some extra stuff happen for our team to give away from Monkey Paw Games. As I said, I reward generous people and you all are the most generous I know. Stay tuned for the Monkey Paw stuff, guys.

Oh, you want to know who won in the raffle?

Well why didn't you say so.

Since I have a HUGE number of codes, I have a huge number of winners. The process for winning the items was randomized twice. Once for the names of the winners and once for the prize in which they received. The winners are as follows in order from first drawn and first prize.

Winner #1: Funktastic

Oddly, the man who pushed us to $500 netted the first prize. Total fluke, but I'm glad it happened this way. I'm sure Funktastic doesn't need anymore games, and I'm even hesitant to think he even needs a game that isn't so rare that Chilly Billy doesn't even know about it, but here is his prize. The first Castle Crashers game code for PSN.

You showed that Canadians apparently do have a heart. Not that we doubted that, but it gets really cold up there so I can only assume you are all half Sasquatch. This is proven by the picture of your father for your avatar.

Winner # 2: Chilly Billy

Second prize (not to be confused with second place) goes to the awesomely awesome Chilly Billy. Chilly Billy get's awarded the second Castle Crashers code. I can only assume this is because he knew putting a C before Hill Billy would guarantee him a code for Castle Crashers on PSN. Now the two collector's can play Castle Crashers against each other. This works out!

Winner # 3: Wry Guy

Now I try to give Wry Guy stuff all the time. I do. He's an awesome guy who does awesome things for this community and he is so unenthused about me trying to give him game codes. Apparently he's loaned out his PSP so he can't receive his prize, the $10 PSN card. I'm going to send him the code anyway because it's his.

Winner # 4: Knutaf

Funny story. I went around asking everyone I could for donations to the event, because you know...kids. Anyway, after I ask Knut, he goes off and donates an amount to Swishiee that raises his total to first place over me by a single penny. I think he did that to spite me in the best way he could, by giving to sick kiddies.

Winner # 5: Law of Thermal Dynamics

Law of Thermal Dynamics is a cool guy so Castle Crashers would do real well with him. With a Funk and Law donation, you know this could have been the start of an Asian Off. However, since they were both awesome it could only be considered a draw. Though I'm going to start the hype train for next year. Be there for Funk vs Law at PAX in Seattle for the battle of the decade. Asian Off 2012!

Winner # 6: HKKstudios

Next prize is the super awesome Super Meat Boy going from my team mate Swishiee to my team mate HKKstudios. That worked out conveniently. Yes. Very conveniently.

Winner # 7: Swishiee

Swishiee however gets to open up a can of worms on his opponents. He worked really hard and had a great live stream running so I'm glad I could get him something for his efforts.

Winner # 8: Maxwell Roahrig

Hey does anybody read Flixist? No? Well you should because Maxwell Roahrig is a cool guy. So cool in fact, he'll be playing some Uncharted 3 Multiplayer a month before a lot of you will. Glad some of our sister site could help out and raise funds for these hospitals.

Winner # 9: Rifter01

My final prize goes to my boy Rifter01. Rift did a lot of work and showcased how awesome he actually is by live streaming some games I've never seen. Part of me was watching his stream while playing some Gears of War. His seemed more interesting. So, he nets the final Castle Crashers code. He worked hard for it and without his and the rest of my team's help, we would never have gotten there.

Now I'm not done. As I've said, I've been in talks with Monkey Paw games and I'm loving how helpful those guys are. Seriously, I've got a laundry list of codes for the October 15th Destructoid event. However, I'm not done. I'm in communication with them for a few more codes so if I hear anything I'll let you know.

That being said, it's been a week since the G3 event has concluded and I'm going to use this as a reminder that any money we can get would go to a great cause. I'll have a bigger push in a week, but the donation page is still open. Just because we hit an arbitrary goal, doesn't mean we can't raise more for sick kids. I've got the page up until November 1st. I want to bring in some funds for more sick kids.

"As much as we can to help as many as we can," that's our motto. So give some kids some money!!! Don't be shy to donate even a dollar. It all helps.

Also, if you've seen a running theme with the pictures and stuff, it's Breast Cancer Awareness month. I'm a guy and I know that all of us should check for lumps. Make sure to feel yourself up and check your health. Mammograms, blood tests, MRI's, and a billion other things can be done to find out if you could have it. Consult your doctor for any assistance if you still don't know what to do. Spread the word for your mothers, daughters and wives.

The Behemoth put out the Pink Knight as well to help spread awareness. Please help spread the word and game with old Pink for the rest of the month.

You are aware of Breast Cancer now, right? Not sure how this month works out charity-wise, but you now know that Breast Cancer is a bad thing and it can be prevented. I've done my job. You can read more about it here

Thanks for doing what you can for charity. I appreciate you all for what you've accomplished. Help any of the 3 groups raise money for any of their hospitals below. Because it's a good thing to do.
