NanDEMOnai is a semi-regular attempt to profile demos for forthcoming games as unbiasedly as possible, based on their own merits and without any consideration of hype, publisher legacy, place within a franchise, or basis on any existing property. I'm just here to discuss how the demo feels, whether it makes the upcoming release stand out as interesting, and extrapolate how the full game may end up being. Basically, a preview with as little context as possible, like a blind date.
The PES2012 demo feels pretty good going in; after you press start, it informs you what features won't be functional in the demo version, and seems to have plenty of menu options. There's your standard exhibition mode, an option to do an exhibition in one of the cup modes, and even includes a training mode to show you how things work. Sounds great, right?
The first training challenge asks you to use your right stick to start a teammate running so you can pass to him, and wants you to do that three times in a set amount of time. How the hell are you supposed to move RS around and
hit A at the same time?
Fuck this demo. Fuck this game. Good job, Konami.
I know this game came out today, and I usually try to get these up before the game the demo is for is released. Busy weekend. Shush.
