My last real blog was about how I liked playing Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility
, even though I thought it wasn't that great of a game. A fellow Dtoider by the name AngelEena suggested I get Rune Factory Frontier
, so I got it. I had been wanting to get one of the Rune Factory
games, but was torturing myself over which one to get, so the advice was appreciated. The Rune Factory
series is a spin-off of Harvest Moon
, and features dungeon crawling along with the traditional farming and ranching mechanics.
The game, like its predecessors, has taken over my life. My daily schedule consists of the following:
1. Wake up at 7:00 am
2. Finish up any school-related work by 4:00 pm
3. Play Rune Factory
until 11:00 pm
Then I sleep, then start all over. Weekends are even worse. I play about 5 hours on Saturdays. I do all this, and the game isn't that
good. Like Tree of Tranquility
, I find myself playing for hours on end, fully aware that this game is destroying me.
ALWAYS IN MODERATION
I guess I'll close by asking if anyone ever felt like they crossed that line. Has anyone ever gone against Tony Sinclair's sage advise and had too much cocktail? Hasn't everybody had that obsession they outwardly expressed for a time, but now are ashamed to say they did? If I'm alone on this one, then I guess that explains why I don't have any friends...
