If you haven't read my about me
section already, then this is all new to you. Read it if you want to fill in any holes in my logic. Done? Wait, you're not going to read it? All right, your loss.
I don't have a particularly interesting writing style, but I think I should still try to entertain whilst I finally introduce myself to the c-bloggers. You may have read my hilarious/insightful comments around the sight, and thought to yourself, "Who's this cool guy, coming here and writing such funny things for unworthy me?"
Well, don't be so humble, I see you all as my equal (for the time being), so feel free to read on with ease. Well, I'm rambling now, let's get down to business.
I found Destructoid a couple of years ago (I believe it was in the middle of 2007) when a program by the name of Attack of the Show
was highlighting game blogs. Destructoid was one of a few, so I gave it a whirl. At first I merely read the news once in a while, not interested in the community section of the site because I was a loyal member of MyNintendo and their forums(I was at Octorawk status). Then Nintendo relinquished the forums in their major site overhaul, and I was left without a home.
I began lurking Destructoid, reading and laughing at the comments at the end of the news stories. I began looking in the forums, having been a fairly avid goblin of forums. I was amazed at how cordial everybody was. Nintendo's forums ran rampant with trolls and flaming wars, but this place had somehow managed to abolish these banes of forum existence. I soon created an account using my same name- LuigiBeast- from Nintendo and wrote my intro thread.
It was a fail post, but everyone gave me polite criticism instead of the kind that made me cry back in Nintendo. Nonetheless, I got distracted for the next 3 years and stopped visiting the forums. My computer sat, saddened by the fact that I no longer went on forums, giving people the business. But this summer, I've gone through a rennaissance, and found that I should embrace my urges, and my urges were telling me to find friends to share in my love of video games.
I remembered Destructoid had a vast community that expanded beyond the forums and decided to begin looking into the site as a whole. I discovered a multi-verse of awesomeness stitched into every aspect of the site. A world where NARPS and FNF existed and people were writing awesome things daily in the C-blogs. I created an account to start writing comments on people's stories and slowly begin assimilating into Dtoid culture. I haven't managed to offend anyone yet, so I'm good so far, and hopefully this intro doesn't ruin it.
In the month where I left comments, I managed to reach an achievment I thought was out of reach: A writer for Destructoid acknowledged my existence. TWICE!
I achieved a "Thanks! Banned
" from Hamza CTZ Aziz for reporting foul play in the comments. You say that doesn't count? Well how about this one
Jonathan "Darkman" Holmes weighed in on my trollish statement! If you're not impressed by that, then all reasoning is lost on you....
Well, that's how I met Destructoid. As for the usual stuff, I've been a Nintendo fanboy my whole life I guess. If you read my about me
you'd understand the reasoning behind it. I do plan on getting a 360 by the end of the month, but I feel silly carrying so many bills in my pocket to the game store. Therefore, I plan on getting a bank account now that they seem to be safe from the Depression, and paying by ATM.
My top 5 favortie games would be:
1. Super Mario World
2. Super Mario Bros. 3
4. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (GC)
Uhhh, what else....? I own an SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy Color, DSiXL, PS2, and an iPod touch which happens to be what I use to go on Destructoid most of the time due to the convenience.
I hope you enjoyed reading this, cuz I enjoyed writing it for you ;)
Like the about me
