People get ready to ditch your iPhone's and anything else. True mobile gaming seems to be arriving!
Yes yes yes yes yes!!!!!! I don't remember what blog I posted but I think it was in one of my own written blogs I mentioned and said "Hmmmmm if Sony did the hardware and it ranned Android and would play games wouldnt that be the most epic combination ever? Well the news just came in and it looks like it is starting, but on the mobile market, Superb.
News sources have come from Engadget throughout Gizmodo & kotaku that a new phone is being made ala PSP Go that will be running Android 3.0 and being able to play PSP/PSX games. I kinda have this already on my HTC Evo with the PSX4Droid app that plays all games from sega master through the Nintendo and playstation 1 library. But the PSX emulator runs a bit slow on the frame rates.
In either case, this is the big major difference between todays smart phones and this one coming out. It HAS EFKING PHYSICAL BUTTONS AND A D PAD!!!
YES! This is something NO iphone or any other smart phone been able to do successfully. Yea you can play SF4 on your iPhone, but CAN you really play it? nope you cant, touching a screen and pretending to having buttons sucks major balls. Until now, or at least, until this baby is released. I just hope that Sprint is able to carry it ; ; I am willing to trade my Evo for it... "The device is described as cross between the Samsung Captivate and the PSP Go -- in other words, it's a landscape slider with game controls in place of the typical QWERTY keyboard. The D-pad is here, but instead of the small joystick, the device will have what was described as a "long touch pad" for analog controls, along with standard PSP buttons and shoulder buttons. The phone has a large display, described as being between 3.7 and 4.1 inches with WVGA or better resolution, a 5 megapixel camera that we're told might not be final, and it'll likely have a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU on board. The phone is mostly black with some silver highlights, and the gamepad area is white / silver in color. Apparently it's currently branded as a Xperia device, but it looks like it will carry PlayStation branding as well. Those who've seen the phone say it looks "pretty damn sexy."
well I hope it doesnt end up like these patent pictures done by sony... we all prefer landscape playing than up/down.
On the software side, it looks like the device will be running Gingerbread (Android 3.0) with a phone-specific skin, and there will be a new area of the Android Market specifically for the games. That content will be initially accessible only by the halo device, but from the sounds of things, these titles might be made available to other Android phones if their specs and button layouts meet requirements. Games will be graphically in the range of PSX or PSP games, meaning true 3D gaming is headed to Android. Titles currently being shown off seem to be focused around some older PSX as well as new PSP offerings, with God of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and LittleBigPlanet possibly on tap, and future plans for titles which incorporate augmented reality features.
I just hope they dont follow the monstrosity of what was the Ngage o.o;
If they keep it nice and sexy with the same powerhouse of games that Android can already play (which is almost all lolz, just missing PS2, Xbox games) with Playstations library then I am sure gamers all over the world will rejoice with a new phone thats better than anything out there for real gaming. Just need a Ninty DS rom and were set! I mean it will have a touch screen and physical buttons, a 4.1" screen sliced in half to show the DS screens lol.
What do you guys think? is this next phone fill of win or what!?
