Ryan EVO 2010 was fucking crazy this year. The top story coming out of this EVO was definitely Justin Wong's SSF4 loss to the Taiwanese Adon player, Gamerbee, and getting denied a place in the Top 8, which was certainly an irony that no one expected.
But more overlooked, and in my opinion, much more interesting, was this year's Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Top 8. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has been around for about a decade now, and in that amount of time, the game has kind of devolved into about six viable characters: Magneto, Storm, Sentinel, Psylocke, Cable, and Captain Commando. But in what may be Marvel 2's final year, Clockw0rk climbed up to third place using his beautiful lockdown combination of Strider and Doctor Doom.

With Marvel vs. Capcom 3 coming by in spring, this will probably be the last time we see Marvel 2 at an EVO tournament. And after a 10-year run, even I was disappointed with how stagnant 3rd Strike and Marvel 2 had become, but Clockw0rk proved me wrong. He locked down Magnetos and Storms with Strider's rotating orb super, forcing players into guessing high/low and left/right blocks with his teleports, and if this really is the last EVO tournament for Marvel 2, then Clockw0rk made sure to send it out with a bang.
