The above video shows a friend of mine and me playing the japanese rhythm game
Daigasso! Band Brothers DX in form of a four-part video (the rest can be found
here). I bet there are a lot of people who are actually familiar with the game or its predecessor. At the very least, Dale North
knows it. Some may even remember that Nintendo once planned a version for western audiences, sporting the title
Jam with the Band - which pretty much disappeared, never being mentioned again.
That is, until
now. Just recently, the game suddenly reappeared on a release list for the second Quarter of 2010. And today, Nintendo of Europe provided us with some information about
Jam with the Band. For starters, it is apparently based on the second japanese game,
Daigasso! Band Brothers DX. That means the game includes the guitar mode, karaoke mode, song downloads and even the Wii Speaker Channel, known from
Daigasso! DX. The pre-installed tracklist on the other hand is packed with a (supposedly) wide variety of songs, though just a few are announced yet. At least in my opinion, the currently known songs are way better than the ones from the japanese release. I'm not a fan of the classical music-heavy tracklist... Which was not much of a problem due to the download feature but still...
Anyway, I'm actually pretty excited about
Jam with the Band, now that I know that it's not the first
Band Brothers (which was originally released in 2004 in Japan, as far as I know... so yeah, it would be really late). Even though I already own
Daigasso! DX.
