Iíve been playing Final Fantasy XIII since release date and Iíve made it quite far in the game considering how much time Iíve had to play it. Unfortunately the game hasnít opened up enough for me to judge its overall value, but it has gone on long enough for me to recognize that Vanille is the worst character ever created.
Everything about her is just oozing with terrible design. She has an accent that's barley maintained, she has no connection with the events of the story, her personality is one dimensional, and manages to be unlikable despite that. In fact she enraged me so much that I made a video dedicated to my loathing of her existence in this game. Check it out:
I hoped that Square Enix learned to not make the same mistakes with character design when they muffled up FF12's entire cast so much, but I suppose it is a different team this time around. Overall I've been enjoying FF13 has a game, its just this one character that's been bugging me.
Semi Related: Unfortunately this blog isnít related to my ambitions to analyze choices in video games, or take a side in the ďgameplay or storyĒ argument that Heavy Rain sparked. However I still plan for those to exist down the pipe. I originally had the plan of having one article each month, but that hasnít really worked out so well. Anyway, enjoy the above video, I was up till 5am making it.
