All things start somewhere, so I may as well start here.
I've been coming to Destructoid for a decent amount of time now for my news. I used to follow "The Last Boss" until it shut down, and somehow in my search for a new Video Game news site, I ended up here.
There's not a lot to say about me, but at the same time my story is unbelievable. I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life. I'll cover more of some of that stuff later.
I play drums in the band "Documentary".
The singer and bass player of my band used to be in a metal band with me, but we got sick of that and our guitarist quit. We got a new guitar player and after a while of messing around, we've settled into our sound.
We've been compared to Jawbreaker, Shellac, Fugazi, The Deftones, and a lot of early 90s "Post Hardcore" and Alternative bands.
I used to DJ in a bar nearby, and I may get back into it at some point. It was something I enjoyed, I got to meet a lot of people and make new friends; it was FUN.
In summary; I play video games (mostly on 360), I play drums (pretty good at it too), I like drinking (I know my limits) and I like hanging out with my friends (thanks to an incident in my life a few years ago where I could have died, I know who my real ones are).
Video games are fun, and a great escape from the downs of your life, and a way to celebrate the ups. But at the same time you can't let them consume you.
With that said, I'm gonna go jump on some Modern Warfare 2, crack open a Miller High Life and have a good time! Then tomorrow I have band practice to get ready for two shows this weekend.
I'll leave you with a short video of my band (the first 30 seconds are missing).
