I found some 'Off-Brand' Bomberman toys

I suppose this is my thing now. Can't say I don't enjoy it!

I was at the mall just over an hour ago, doing some Christmas shopping and what-not. My four-year-old cousin was in tow and, by God, was he a bear. I took him to the little play area to burn off some energy and afterwards to the toy store.

Now, the toy store in our mall doesn't carry what you would call "top-of-the-line" or "current" product. It's like the Big Lots of toy stores only about one-twentieth the size. I have never once seen anybody walk out of this place with anything; it astounds me that the joint has stayed open for as long as it has. "Cheap" and "shady" don't even begin to describe the crap on the shelves.

However, I saw something today that blew my mind. I didn't buy it, but since coming home and mulling over it I may just reconsider. In the meantime, I've snapped some shots for you guys.

It's called Marble Robot and includes three marble-launching figurines and an assload of marbles. The robots are clearly Bombermen. Have there ever been Bombermen figurines of any kind from Japan? Usually when the Chinese pump out off-brand toys they at least work off of some base. This is remarkable stuff.

A caption on the box reads "EXCITING GAME," but I have my suspicions that there is any organized game structure to this. I dunno, maybe the box includes a set of instructions, but c'mon! You launch marbles at each other! Why would you do anything else? Do you know anyone who actually played Mouse Trap? Of course not! Everyone wants to build the contraption right away!

The more I look at this, the more awesome it becomes. You launch marbles out of the Bombermen's bellies. You can recreate the video game right on your living room floor. That's gotta be worth $6.99, right? There doesn't appear to be any model variations, just these three, none of which look like the White Bomber. I don't think we have any room to complain, though.
