Left4dead suprises me, the first hour of gameplay of the demo on STEAM yesterday was like hell: servers were not working, bugs, etc. Lets say that personally I had a bad start with the multiplayer side of the game.
But a day later and probably more than a patch later the game is running fine.
I was on a team, we were noobs, playing the best we could but still we needed like an hour to make it trhought the level, finally learning all the aspects of this demo, the demo level itself, and starting to understand the tactics behind the zombie game.
The great thing about Left4Dead is that you can play it again and again, the experience is going to be different since you will be playing with different people and also the AI called Director will take charge of the zombies and the “special” zombies (like the tank or the witch), will never appear on the same spot. So you will never find youself in the same situation. Weapons and ammo with pills and medkits will pop up on different places everytime depending on how well the team is doing, also courtesy of the Director.
They will kill you, and maybe your teammates and you will have to start again since the last safe house if you are all death, but then you will not always find death, some team member can revive you if you are on your back, heal you with a medkit. If your team manages to move on even when you are dead they will be able to rescue you from a room and you will be back on track…. So you wont have to wait until they are done.
The best part so far?
Is fun.
I didn’t actually knew what to expect from such a heavy multiplayer game. And I know this is only the demo, I have to wait for the full game, but the impression is good, very good, very fun cooperative mp gaming.
If you don’t have it yet, don’t think it twice. The game is a blast to play in multiplayer.
Go, preorder it. If you are a PC gamer you may buy it for 45 usd on steam and start playing the demo right now.
