Wow. Just wow. I have been to the E for All expo for two years running now, and you might remember I even had some tips
for them to get their act together. And really, I was hopeful. How great would it be to have another kickass gaming convention in my own hometown? Pretty great, that's how great.
DO WANT... to learn to read Japanese...
Otherwise there are a few nice things I can say about E for All 2008. They had a big stack of free magazines, so I picked up the latest Nintendo Power
, Official XBox Magazine
, and Official Playstation Magazine
, just for kicks. And in the case that you do want to play something, the lines are nowhere near as long as they were at PAX. At the Indiecade booth I was able to either walk up to something and immediately play it, or wait until the one person on the game was finished.
Of course, the lines are so short because the expo is so empty, and with so few people, it's no wonder so few exhibitors signed up. If only the interest were higher, I could imagine E for All becoming a fantastic event, but the prejudice against it caused a snowball effect that turned it into what it is today: a dismal, barren wasteland of a video game exposition.
