Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting as much as I was for a while. I know that it's not like I've been here for a long time, so some of you (most of you) probably either haven't noticed or haven't really seen my stuff in the past. Anyway, I just wanted to explain why I've been gone to those that care as well as talk about some new blog ideas I have.
Why I've Been Gone:
Summary of college: Ramen Noodles
I'm a student and my school's workload is notorious for being... How do you say... Rape? So there's that, once summer ended I just lost a lot of my free time so yeah. However! I'm going to try and commit to writing at least one article a week now. It'll give me a time when I'm forced to take a break from school as well.
Some of you may know, but I'm in training to become a youth minister. I'm not asking you to agree with Christianity, trying to convert you, or being a tool so please just respect my views and my way of life. That being said, I work as a volunteer in a church, it's pretty much a sort-of pre-internship. I do a lot of artwork and media related stuff (which can take up to about 20 hours of my weekend), I lead a D-Group (Discipleship Group) where I meet up with about 5-8 high school age guys weekly and discuss God, life, friends, family, and make penis jokes. I try to be someone they can look up to and turn to no matter what and if I really want to impact their lives I have to go above and beyond. So I usually meet with a few of them one-on-one throughout the week to talk, have lunch, play Smash Bros, etc. I've been doing this for over a year and it's exciting to see these guys grow up, I'll be mentoring them all the way through high school (I started their 8th grade year and they're Freshmen now) and following up with them even while they're in college.
Almost as serious as youth ministry.
When started dating my girlfriend almost 3 years ago, we found out that she'd be moving to Houston about 3 months in, but I decided to man up and see if we could stick it out and we have! She graduated high school and is now back in my city where we go to college together. However, adjusting from 2 1/2 years of long distance isn't easy and one of the challenges we've faced is leaving time for other things and not smothering each other by hanging out too much. So yeah, I love my female, but she can occupy a lot of time.
Just to clarify. That's NOT my room.
I'm an artist at heart for those who don't know and I draw for at least an hour everyday, not to mention the work that I do for my church, or the process of digitally converting all of my stuff in Photoshop. I also do lots of stuff with audio and video. So that can take up a lot of time.
Apparently also serious business.
I had to throw that in somewhere right!? I have to leave some time to relax and play some video games somewhere and that's usually where my free-time is spent after everything else is taken care of.
So there you go! That's why I've been busy. That turned out being a lot longer than I wanted it to! If you read all of that, thanks! What's been clogging up your schedule? I've been thinking of new blog ideas and I want to start doing more regular segments so I'll be brainstorming on that. I might even post one later today! Well, this blog turned out to be a lot bigger than it was intended to be, but whatever, I ramble. See you!
